Growth cannot happen without education!

On Wednesday, December 18th, several members of the Milwaukee Anti-war Committee met up for a casual study and discussion of several texts. Said texts were of varying leftist ideologies, spanning from Democratic Socialism to Anarcho-Communism to general leftism. The breadth of these ideologies match those of many of the members of MAC itself.

Participants spoke to one another about joy, frustration, hope, curiosity, and revolution - over hot cocoa. Ultimately we came to several conclusions: there may be no hope for capitalism, but there is joy in our rebellion. Our differences in ideology do not divide us but make us a powerful and multi-faceted movement of creative individuals.

We hope to continue to strengthen our movement by holding these conversations both in and out of these studies - together, we will fight against U.S. capitalism and build a better world!

On International Day of Solidarity with Palestine, the Milwaukee Anti-war Committee reafirms our commitment to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and Popular Palestinian Resistance. We will continue fighting for a free Palestine and will not stop until our demands are met.

Immediate end of U.S. aid to Israel!

Representative Gwen Moore and Senator Tammy Baldwin to introduce legislation that will end all U.S. aid to Israel and recognize Palestine’s right to self-determination.

Support the repeal of Wisconsin’s unfair Anti-BDS law.

Today is the National Day of Mourning. It’s important to look at the connections in the colonization of Turtle Island and Palestine and how our struggles unite us. Spend some time thinking about these connections and what we can do to fight for indigenous sovereignty everywhere, but don’t forget about this tomorrow. We need to carry this fight into actions that will help us create a better world for all impacted by U.S. imperialism.

Our demands:
1. We oppose the recent Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources decision to reroute the Enbridge Line 5 pipeline which disregards tribal sovereignty and treaties, as well as what is best for the environment.
2. Indigenous sovereignty everywhere!
3. Immediate end of U.S. aid to Israel!
4. Representative Gwen Moore and Senator Tammy Baldwin to introduce legislation that will end all U.S. aid to Israel and recognize Palestine’s right to self-determination.

Today we want to honor those who have been killed by the neverending pursuit of imperialism. Veterans Day is another holiday that celebrates patriotism and pushes military propaganda. Isn’t it funny that the U.S. likes having so many holidays that celebrate the military, yet veterans aren’t treated with respect by its own government? Young people enlist in the military as a way to escape poverty, or to receive a college education, yet there is a steep cost. Veterans experience homelessness and high su***de rates. While in the military, an estimated 24.7% of women and 5.8% of men face sexual harassment and assault.

The environmental cost of the military is extremely high. The carbon emissions of the U.S. military is larger than entire nations, like Norway and Sweden. While the U.S military causes the death and destruction of innocent people and land, it also supports the over-militarization of the police in our own communities, including increased, constant surveillance.

End the U.S war machine!

Last night Milwaukee took to the streets to say FREE PALESTINE! In the wake of the election results, we have to keep fighting against the racist and reactionary agenda of President Elect Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

While we were protesting Trump last night, we would have been protesting NO MATTER who won the election. The Democrats have been funding the genocide in Palestine under Biden. Two parties, one genocide!

If are angry about Trump wining the election, if you are angry that your tax dollars are funding a genocide, if you are angry about the endless attacks on immigrant rights, reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, then join an organization. We have the power to win, so join us!
