Looking back at photos of Joyce’s Legacy graduates over the years is a powerful reminder that earning a GED is often just the beginning.

One former graduate recently became a homeowner. Another proudly shared that they are now an EMT. Another is a proud US Navy. Others are building careers, raising families, continuing their education, starting businesses, and creating new opportunities for themselves.

Joyce’s Legacy is proud of every graduate, no matter where they are in their journey today.

As Mufasa said in The Lion King, “Remember who you are.”

Remember how far you have come.

Remember the obstacles you overcame.

Remember that you are capable of building a life that once may have felt out of reach.

Joyce’s Legacy will always be proud to be part of where so many of these journeys began. Lord knows, if Joyce were here today, she would be incredibly proud to see how her legacy continues to grow through every learner and every graduate.

And to every adult who still wants to earn their GED while balancing work, children, family responsibilities, and life, Joyce’s Legacy is here for you.

You do not have to do it alone.

Reach out to us. We would love to welcome you into Joyce’s growing family.

Your story is not over. It may just be getting started. 💜

We love receiving updates from our Joyce’s Legacy alumni, and this one made us proud.

This is what we mean when we say the GED is not the finish line. It can be the beginning of a career, a new level of confidence, and a future filled with possibilities.

Elijah, we are so proud of you and everything you have accomplished. Keep growing, keep building, and keep finishing your story!

New week, new chance. Whether you're studying between shifts, after the kids are finally asleep, or on your lunch break, every page you turn is a page closer to your GED. We see you, Legacy Learners. Let's make this week count.

Mrs. Mercedez Says:

"You don't have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to start."

Today is National Coloring Book Day, but this page is about more than coloring. 🖍️

It represents the parents who are building their own future while helping their children build theirs.

At Joyce’s Legacy Learning Center, we understand that going back to school as an adult takes courage. You may be studying between work, parenting, appointments, and everything else life brings. But every lesson completed, every practice question answered, and every hour you invest is helping you finish your story and create a new legacy for your family.

Color this page with your child and let it be a reminder:

Your future is worth it.
Your goals are still possible.
And your children are watching you keep going.

Let us say this again for the people in the back.

Joyce’s Legacy Learning Center is more than 𝗚𝗘𝗗 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀.
Yes, we help adults prepare and test for the GED.
But then what?
What happens after you pass?
That matters too.

We want our learners thinking about careers, training, financial literacy, digital skills, employment, and what they actually want their life to look like next.

We do not want you to get your GED and then be sitting there like:

Okay... now what? 😂

No ma’am. No sir.

We need a PLAN.

The GED is the beginning of your next chapter, not the end.

GED Tip Tuesday: What Does “𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱” Mean?

Let’s keep it simple.

Look at the Kobe's facial expression in the picture.

What can you 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿?

You might say he looks disappointed, frustrated, serious, or like the game did not go the way he wanted.

Did the picture directly tell you that?

𝗡𝗼.

You used the clues you could see to make a reasonable conclusion.

That is what it means to 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿.

On the GED, the answer may not be written word for word in the passage. You have to use the details the author gives you and ask:

What conclusion makes the most sense based on the evidence?

And remember, 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱. Make the passage prove it.

Okay, okay... we know. 😂

We have been a little quiet on social media.

But baby, we have NOT been sitting still.

We have been working behind the scenes, supporting learners, preparing for testing, building partnerships, working on new resources, getting ready for conference, and continuing to grow Joyce’s Legacy Learning Center.

Sometimes you get so busy doing the work that you forget to post about the work.

But we’re back. 💜

And we have a lot to share.

Joyce’s Legacy is about more than earning a GED.
We want our learners to finish their GED, figure out what comes next, build confidence, learn new skills, and create a real plan for their future.

Because the goal has never been just to pass a test.

The goal is to Finish the Story!
