We’re shining in our rhinestones today for 9 to 5 Day and celebrating the power of books, literacy, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Today, we received a $120.00 contribution supporting children in ZIP codes 53206, 53208, and 53215, and we’re grateful for every dollar helping put books into little hands.

As a local nonprofit, we know firsthand how important community support is. We’re proud to help raise awareness and resources for the Imagination Library, while continuing to raise the support needed to sustain the education, literacy, and workforce programs we provide right here in Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE, LET'S FINISH THE STORY!

$916 ON 9/16. FIVE LEARNERS. FIVE GRADUATION DREAMS.

Today is National GED Day. Last year, Mayor Cavalier Johnson and the City of Milwaukee proclaimed this day in honor of Joyce's House Education Center's, work in adult education, GED prep, testing, and graduation, and we lit up the Hoan Bridge to celebrate our 3rd GED ceremony.

Today, as Joyce's Legacy Learning Center, we continue that mission. More than 30 million adults in the U.S. don't have a high school diploma. Behind that number are people with dreams, families, and goals that deserve a chance to grow.

OUR CHALLENGE: RAISE $916 ON 9/16 to cover GED testing for FIVE adult learners.
Imagine five more names called. Five more families on their feet. Five more adults who finished what they started.

𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆!

We're opening this special week by sharing the voices of our GED graduates. Each person featured in this video made the courageous decision to return to their education, push through the obstacles, and finish what they started.

Behind every diploma is a story of perseverance, sacrifice, late-night studying, family responsibilities, self-doubt, and the determination to keep going anyway. Their success is proof that where your story paused does not have to be where it ends.

To every adult learner working toward the finish line: Your story is still being written. Keep showing up. Keep believing in yourself. Your moment is coming, and Joyce's Legacy Learning Center will be beside you along the way.

Today, we celebrate our graduates, current learners, families, coaches, and everyone who believes in the life-changing power of adult education.

Today, on National Grandparents Day, we honor the people whose love stays with us long after they are gone.

For our founder, Joyce and Bishop were more than grandparents. They were home. The door was always open, Grandma Joyce was always welcoming with a smile.

Joyce shared her love of music, laughter, coffee, holidays, and everyday moments that became lifelong memories. She and her granddaughters would sing their favorite songs at the top of their lungs while Joyce danced. Halloween was always fun with her. Bishop brought his own kind of joy, humor, music, and memories that still make the family smile today.

There will never be another Joyce and Bishop.

But their love, lessons, laughter, and legacy continue through the family they built and through the work of Joyce’s Legacy Learning Center.

Today, we remember them with love.
