*** LAST CHANCE ***
This weekend is your last chance to vote early before Election Day! Avoid the big lines on Tuesday, find your nearest early voting site and cast your ballot!

Early voting ends Sunday, November 3rd. Please visit https://myvote.wi.gov/ to ensure you have everything you need.

Did you know that voting improves Public Health outcomes?

Studies show that barriers to voting can create a reduced sense of community and less access to resources, which results in worse health outcomes like higher infant mortality rates and greater risk of chronic disease.

By taking actions to increase Civic Engagement, like voting, we exercise our right to make decisions about our communities, identify and address problems, and shape our opportunities to be healthy.

*** RECALL ALERT ***

https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/treehouse-foods-announces-expansion-voluntary-recall-include-all-waffle-and-pancake-products-due

TreeHouse Foods, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain pancake and waffle products due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

The recalled products were distributed throughout the United States and Canada and packed in various brands, flavors, and quantities.

The FDA advises consumers to check their freezers for any of the products listed and dispose of them or return the recalled product to the place of purchase for credit. View the full list of products online at the link above.

🎗️ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎗️

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and early detection can make all the difference. This month, let’s join together to support awareness, share resources, and encourage each other to prioritize breast health.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

💟 Get Screened:
Early detection saves lives! Schedule a mammogram and encourage others to do the same.

💟 Show Support:
Wear pink, share resources, and raise awareness for those impacted.

💟 Know the Signs:
Understanding the symptoms can help catch cancer early.

MHD's Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program (MBCCAP) helps connect underinsured women ages 35-64 with FREE breast and cervical cancer screenings. Visit online at milwaukee.gov/MBCCAP or call (414) 286-2133 to learn more!
