The U. S. Census counts every person in the U. S. and takes place every 10 years. The next census is just around the corner starting Thursday, March 12, 2020. Households will be invited to participate in the 2020 Census in mid-March. For the first time ever, the U.S. Census Bureau will accept responses online and by phone, but you can still respond by mail if you prefer.

Responding to the #2020Census is our civic duty and affects the allocation of funding for our community’s public resources, how we plan for the future, and our voice in government. Learn more at milwaukee.gov/2020Census.

When a child is misbehaving, as parents it is normal for us to want to correct them. Experts have found that praising for positive behavior you want to see if more effective than calling out things you want them to stop doing. Of course this does not apply when your child is doing something unsafe.

This article provides a simple yet thorough explanation and ideas for how to provide more positive attention to change your child's actions.

One way we’re celebrating Black History Month in the Drop is by recognizing black artists and leaders in Milwaukee and around the world. Our youth put this board together honoring the unapologetically black voices of the past and present.

If you want to support future African American leaders in our community, consider donating your time or resources to Pathfinders’ young people!

A Brief History of The Nehemiah Project Inc.

The Nehemiah Project Inc. was organized in 1996 as a youth-focused non-profit organization that provides support services to male youth who have either been the victim of difficult home lives or are transitioning from a juvenile correctional facility. In 2002, The Nehemiah Project acquired two group homes for youth, ages 13-18: Harper House, located on Milwaukee’s East side, has been serving as a group home since 1991 and TransCenter, located on Milwaukee’s West side, has been serving as a group home since 1978. These group homes offer programs that aim to help these young men find new ways to navigate in the world. Our Literacy Program, Juvenile Cognitive Intervention Program, Independent Living Program, Forgiveness for Teens and other programs offer youth opportunities to grow, adapt, mature, and see new futures for themselves.
