We've made it to Day 10 of our 12 Days of Vision Health series! Today, we're talking about SNOW BLINDNESS. βοΈ Snow blindness is a type of photokeratitis- a sunburn to the eye. It can be caused by the sun reflecting off of snow, ice, or water. Wearing sunglasses can protect against developing snow blindness. Ensure that your sunglasses absorb UV-A and UV-B rays. π You may be experiencing "snow blindness" if you have the following symptoms: pain, redness, blurriness, tearing, gritty feeling, swelling, sensitivity to bright light, headache, seeing halos, small pupils, twitching eyelid, and rarely, temporary vision loss. Donate towards our $1,200 goal for our 12 Days of Vision Health year-end appeal here: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/12DaysofVisionHealth π
Happy 12 Days of Vision Health! Grab a cup of hot cocoa, maybe your favorite cheese, and don't forget your children to listen to Seemore's Holiday Story! Seemore Mouse and his friends learn about how healthy vision is one of the greatest gifts you can have for the holidays. ππ
Today's topic of conversation for day 6 of 12 Days of Vision Health is Cataracts & Glaucoma. π Our very own PBW staff member, Courtney Murphy, explains what each of these eye conditions are, what is happening to your vision if you have it, and what to do if you think you're experiencing any symptoms. Please consider donating towards our 12 Days of Vision Health series to help PBW continue our work with preventive vision care for adults. π http://weblink.donorperfect.com/12DaysofVisionHealth

Be mindful of your vision health this holiday season and remember to keep it 20-20-20! Every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away, for 20 seconds. We've teamed up with HEAR Wisconsin to remind everyone about the importance of getting outside for your vision and hearing health! To donate towards our mission of preventing blindness, please visit: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/12DaysofVisionHealth
