This is a little late, but last weekend the 128th hosted a pre-deployment event. As you can see the turn out was great! We had the wonderful support of the USO, Wisconsin Veterans Network, the Vet Center, American Legion, along with the support of those who make Camo Quilts! Thank all you who came out and those who supported the 128th!

The Health and Wellness Resource Team want to thank Wisconsin Veteran's Network for their generosity in supporting the 128th in providing some of our service members with Peer Support Training. Our base's DPH spear headed this peer support group in hopes to teach those who are willing to learn about what to look for in preventing suicides. There has been an unfortunate up-rising in suicides in the National Guard and Reserves. Our DPH, Ms. Kami Ward is working to make a difference for those who may be struggling while serving in the National Guard, while teaching other on base what to look for and how others can be supportive to those who may be going through a tough time.
Wisconsin Veteran's Network (Vetsnet for short) is a non-profit agency that tackles veteran issues by partnering up with local and statewide agencies for the greater good of serving veterans. Vetsnet is not only ran by veterans, they also conduct their business with hearts of gold. We can't thank them enough for their support. Yesterday we acknowledged those who sacrificed their lives for one of the most pivotal terrorist attacks on American soil. The 128th did a beautiful dedication; the base Chaplain said a powerful prayer, and there was a beautiful rendition of TAPS on a horn and Amazing Grance played by bag pipes. We will never forget what happened that day nor will we ever stop fighting for our freedoms. God Bless America.
