The Black Cat Alley will be a new arts destination comprised of outdoor large-scale murals, all in one two-block alley which will serve as an open gallery walkway. It will be located between Kenilworth Blvd and Ivanhoe, in the alley between the Oriental Theatre on Farwell Avenue and Colectivo Coffee on Prospect Avenue in the historic East Side neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A dark and quiet

space, it is in urgent need of a makeover; in our vision, it will be a beautiful, cultural destination for the public. The alley will become an outdoor gallery, enhancing the local business community by drawing local visitors and tourists. A seven-day installation is planned for September 11-17, 2016, and it will be an exciting media event for the community to enjoy. Artists from around the world will join local Milwaukee professionals and students to create an amazing street art space.

We're not saying your dreams need a bundle of balloons attached to them...but it certainly doesn't hurt.

Fun Fact! 💡

Black Cat Alley is now home to its first-ever pair of murals created by a married couple. ❤️🎨

AIM Creatively's Up Up and Away, added in 2026, and ACM Designs' And Now You're Here, added in 2025, are painted side by side in the Alley.

Arcadia and Adam Melster may have their own unique artistic styles, but together they've left a colorful mark on Black Cat Alley. Next time you're visiting, be sure to check out both murals and the creative partnership behind them!

Thank you to everyone who has supported our North Avenue Mural Fundraiser so far! Your generosity is helping us get one step closer to bringing another unique piece of public art to the East Side. 🎨

East Side Gallery Night reminded us just how much this community values local art, creativity, and the artists who make our neighborhood unique. Now, let's keep that momentum going.

Our fundraiser remains open through July 31, and every donation helps fund a new mural along the E. North Ave. corridor, supporting a local Milwaukee muralist while turning a blank wall into a bold, community-driven work of art that reflects the spirit of the East Side.

If you've been meaning to contribute, there's still time! Every dollar brings us closer to making this project a reality.

Donate today and help us create the next chapter of public art on the East Side: https://www.patronicity.com/project/north_ave_mural_project #!/ 💙

Help welcome visitors to one of Milwaukee's most iconic public art destinations. 👋🎨
As part of the Ivanhoe Plaza Project, we're creating two new gateway signs to Black Cat Alley, giving supporters a unique opportunity to become part of the neighborhood's creative legacy.

Located at the eastern entrance to Ivanhoe Plaza, Black Cat Alley has become a destination for locals and visitors alike, showcasing dozens of murals by local, national, and international artists. By sponsoring one of the two gateway signs, your name or organization will be permanently recognized as a supporter of this celebrated public art space.

Your sponsorship helps preserve and strengthen Black Cat Alley's legacy while supporting the continued growth of arts and culture on Milwaukee's East Side.

Interested in sponsoring one of the gateway signs? Contact East Side BID Executive Director Ryan Laessig at [email protected] to learn more about this exclusive opportunity.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated to help bring a new mural to Milwaukee's East Side! Your support is helping turn this vision into reality, but we're not there yet. 🎨

We're raising funds to bring a new public mural to the E. North Ave. corridor, building on the creativity and vibrancy of Black Cat Alley and Ivanhoe Plaza while supporting a local Milwaukee muralist. 🖌

Every donation, big or small, moves us one step closer to creating another inspiring piece of public art that will bring color, community pride, and more visitors to the neighborhood for years to come.

Our goal is to complete the fundraiser before East Side Gallery Night on Friday, July 17, when we'll celebrate the future mural and everyone helping make it happen.

If you've been thinking about donating, now's the time! Visit the link below to contribute and help us reach the finish line. Every dollar makes a difference. 💙
