AFROTC will accept applications from those students who have not been able to test due to COVID-19 constraints which have impacted testing availability. We have always considered applicants based on a “whole person” concept; therefore, individuals without test scores will not be disadvantaged as test scores are but one of the many factors we consider in our selection process. This only applies to the current scholarship application window which closes on January 14, 2021.

AFROTC Week in Review
At LLAB, cadets showcased their drill and ceremonies skills while performing an Open Ranks Inspection. Cadets were evaluated on how well they upheld the Air Force's dress and appearance standards. Looking sharp cadets!

A professional and sharp image is important to maintain in the military, as it reflects the high levels of discipline, pride and honor service members strive for.

We congratulate Cadet Anna Huntley(middle) for scoring a perfect 100 on the Air Force Fitness Assessment. She has earned herself a spot alongside Cadets Emily Gehrke and Anthony Archuleta in the 100 Club, a group of cadets who have scored 100 on the FA at some point in their AFROTC career. These cadets have upheld the Air Force core value of "Excellence in All We Do," not only when it comes to physical fitness, but every aspect of AFROTC as well.

Physical fitness is an important aspect of life for members of the United States Armed Forces. A fit force is more productive, powerful and prepared to carry out the mission.

Today we honor and remember all those who have served in the Armed Forces. #VeteransDay

Honoring service

Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day, is a U.S. holiday which originally honored service members who served during World War I. The name was officially changed after World War II and the Korean War when veterans asked U.S. Congress to change the day’s name from “Armistice Day” to “Veterans Day” in order to acknowledge the sacrifices made by all service members during war and peace.

Today we honor all veterans. Thank you for your service.

This week cadets honed their marching skills at an all outdoor LLAB. At PT, cadets saw their months of hard work pay off while taking the first official Air Force Fitness Assessment of this semester. Every week since week one, Det 930’s cadets have improved their drill and physical fitness at a rate this detachment has never seen, embodying “Excellence in all we do.” We at Det 930 have three weeks of instruction left and we are excited to finish the semester strong!

The “You Can Fly” program is back! Last year dozens of cadets from across the country took advantage of the opportunity to gain valuable flying experience and have it fully funded by AFROTC.

Starting in September, you have the chance to do the same. Any applicant must be able to complete their flight training by July 2021 to be eligible. Ask your detachment cadre for more information if you are interested in taking flight! #airforce #afrotc #aimhigh #flyhigher #higherfurtherfaster #youcanfly #pilotlife

We have been hard at work here at MAX Charlie! It’s already TD-11 and the cadets are making considerable strides towards entrance into the Professional Officer Course and graduation!

Here’s a quick overview about what’s been happening so far!

Cadets had their Battlefield Airmen, Land Navigation, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, and Base Defense lessons via Zoom during their isolation periods. The Physical Fitness Assessment and Confidence Course have been finished! TD-8 marked the first day of scenarios across the encampment and the cadets will find their leadership and new skills challenged during this phase of evaluations. Only a few more days until the last group of cadets graduate!

More to come and remember to #WinAsOne!
