April is Arab-American Heritage Month. We are celebrating Colonel James "Jabby" Jabara, who was the first American jet Ace. A pilot who earns the title of an "Ace" is any fighter pilot credited with shooting down five or more enemy aircraft.
.
He was born in 1923 and served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. In 1943, he commissioned as a second lieutenant in what would become the Air Force. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
.
Col Jabara is an amazing example of the many Arab-Americans who have served/are serving their country. We would like to celebrate this community's rich heritage and numerous contributions to society.

High school and college students with at least 3 years left of school are invited to our Open House where you will get to meet with cadets and cadre (AFROTC instructors) who can show you what it is like in college and AFROTC. During the event, you arrive at the detachment and get a brief tour before observing the cadets at Leadership Laboratory (LLAB). After LLAB, there will be food and a meet/greet panel complete with cadets/cadre who will answer questions that you or parents have about the program. Det 930 is host to many colleges in the Greater Milwaukee Area, so this is a great opportunity if you plan to attend one of those schools.
