April is Arab-American Heritage Month. We are celebrating Colonel James "Jabby" Jabara, who was the first American jet Ace. A pilot who earns the title of an "Ace" is any fighter pilot credited with shooting down five or more enemy aircraft.
He was born in 1923 and served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. In 1943, he commissioned as a second lieutenant in what would become the Air Force. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Col Jabara is an amazing example of the many Arab-Americans who have served/are serving their country. We would like to celebrate this community's rich heritage and numerous contributions to society.
