It’s great to see organizations like the American Legion embracing gaming and esports as a way to connect with today’s service members and veterans.
For years, the military’s MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) programs have understood the value of gaming as a tool for camaraderie, stress relief, teamwork, and building community. It’s exciting to see veteran organizations beginning to recognize that same potential.
The next generation of veterans connects differently than previous generations, and meeting them where they are—whether that’s over a cup of coffee, a peer support group, or a gaming console—is how we continue to build strong veteran communities.
Gaming isn’t just entertainment; it’s another way to create connection, reduce isolation, and strengthen peer support.
