WAC Lions Club expresses our condolences to Lion David Stedman and the Jefferson Lions Club.

We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our dear friend, Cheryl Stedman. Cheryl was an active supporter of LEBW, a LEBW Transporter, Jefferson Lions Club member and an organ, eye and tissue donation advocate. Cheryl was a kind, giving and selfless person, always willing to lend a hand and always wore a smile. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her husband, David and their family. ❤️

“Leadership, Experience, Opportunity.” That’s what makes a Leo. As the youngest members of Lions Clubs International, Leos embody the best qualities of our incredible organization. They are devoted young people who realize the power of action. Together, Leos and Lions form a powerful partnership — one of mutual respect where Lions learn from the innovative insights of Leos, and where Leos gain access to the proven strategies of those who’ve successfully served the world for decades. #LionsClubs #leoclub

A small act like collecting recycled glasses may not seem like much at first, but when those glasses are distributed around the world through Lions eyeglass missions that change lives, you'll soon discover that Lions are making a big impact. Lions are everywhere: teaching children to read, responding to disasters, fighting measles, providing clean water, and so much more.

During recent months, there have been an increasing number of phone, text, social media and email scams. Be aware of scams that fraudulently use the Lions Clubs International or Lions Clubs International Foundation name or logo. The goal of these types of scams is to trick people into revealing personal and financial information about themselves, which can then be used to commit identity theft. Calling all Hunters...... We want your hides!! This is our first year collecting hides, help us to make it a great year. We are collecting the hides for the Wisconsin Lions Foundation to help fund Lions Camp.
This quality camping experience is provided free-of-charge to eligible children and adults with disabilities from Wisconsin. We serve children and adults who are blind or visually impaired, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, children with intellectual disabilities or autism, children with diabetes, and children with epilepsy. A chance remark, “Blind kids can’t go to outdoor camps and stuff like that…” started it all in 1955 and in 1956, the Lions Clubs of the State of Wisconsin founded the Wisconsin Lions Camp and the Wisconsin Lions Foundation, Inc. to administer the Camp program. From that humble beginning with 26 campers, we are proud to serve 1,200 campers a summer.
Make a good hunting season a GREAT hunting season this year. Donate your hide.

Over 2,000,000 people in the U.S. have received corneal transplants since 1961. Disease, injury and other treatment options were unable to return their sight. A corneal transplant was their only hope for people as young as infants to seniors to gain their ability to watch a sunrise, see the smile of a loved one or cherish time with grandchildren. Fortunately for them, caring individuals gifted their corneas, the clear covering over their eyes, after their death. There are no manufactured or artificial substitutes available for corneal transplants. During #EyeDonationMonth, you may be able to make a difference in the life of someone suffering from corneal blindness, like Zoe (the face of Eye Donation this month), when you register as an organ, tissue and eye donor.

Zoe received a corneal transplant when she was only six weeks old! Read more about Zoe and her donor's story at https://restoresight.org/?s=zoe.

Worldwide, more than 460 million people have diabetes and around 50% of them are undiagnosed, particularly in developing countries. In Honduras, Lions in District D-6 wanted to help citizens understand the symptoms of diabetes and how to be diagnosed. With a US$2,142 District and Club Community Impact grant from LCIF, Lions constructed seven bus stop benches with diabetes information signage. Placed within five cities, the signs are eye-catching displays that Lions expect 21,000+ people to view initially, hopeful they will benefit more lives as viewers spread the information to family and friends. Children receiving cancer treatment can now relax and enjoy a bit of fun with their parents thanks to LCIF and Lions. With a US$750 District and Club Community Impact grant from LCIF, Lions at El Paso Five Points Lions Club in Texas, USA purchased their local hospital a Brady Buggy wagon. The bright yellow wagon, painted to look like a lion, can secure medicine poles to the back of them, so they can easily trail along behind the child. The wagon has already brought smiles to so many kids' faces and will be around for kids to enjoy for years to come. Learn more about our Childhood Cancer cause. https://bit.ly/33kypij
