So many things happening it's hard to keep up with our social media! We are currently in the process of planning our 2021 Hustle S'more for Lions Camp! We're going back to the traditional 5K, 10 K and 1 mile donut dash on site with a 15 mile bike ride on country roads starting and ending at Camp. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 14, 2021 and we'll be getting registrations open soon! If you know an organization or business that'd be a great sponsor or could provide some cool pledge prizes, message us.

When two Lions clubs in Italy learned about the food insecurity in West African villages, they wanted to help. Both clubs collaborated with the Koudougou Baobab Lions Club in Burkina Faso and with a US$54,267 LCIF grant, they completed a very successful project. One year after the pandemic began, we at Kathy's House are mindful of the grief, loss, and heartbreak that so many have suffered over the past year.

But we are also overwhelmed with gratitude. We are grateful that, although our strategy shifted, our mission persisted. We are grateful that, recognizing that cancer and serious illnesses don't cease for a pandemic, our leadership adopted necessary precautions swiftly, beginning March 13, 2020. We are grateful that those precautions allowed us to serve guests in our "home away from home" throughout the last 365 days. And we are grateful that, while our staff and volunteers couldn't offer a hug or a comforting hand on the shoulder, they found new ways to offer compassion and care to families in medical crisis.

Finally, we are grateful for our generous donors. Without the 350 households that gave to our critical operations campaign (40% of whom were brand new to our mission!), we could not have continued to serve guests. Thank you to everyone who gave to support Kathy's House during this challenging year. We appreciate you!
