We always enjoy getting out in the community and talking with kids about fire prevention. Today, we covered who to call in an emergency, why firefighters may look different in full gear, and why there’s no need to be afraid—they’re there to help. Of course, we also practiced the important “Stop, Drop, and Roll” technique.

To wrap up the day, everyone had the chance to explore the fire truck and even spray water from the hose. We’re truly grateful for the opportunity to share what we love while helping educate and connect with our community.

Earlier today, the Minatare Melbeta Fire Department sent 2 personnel on a type 6 engine up to the Ashby Fire! Crew is expected to return by morning.

Effective immediately the Governor has issued an Executive Order that bans the issuance of Open Burn Permits for 14 days. The Executive Order prohibits any fire chief or person designated by the fire chief from granting an open burn permit for any purpose. Any existing burn permit that has not been completed is null and void and open burning is not permitted for 14 consecutive days beginning now.

This order will be reviewed prior to its termination to determine the need to extend the ban. Further information will be provided prior to that date.

During this time no burn permits will be issued, and any previous permit issued are void.
