Minatare Melbeta Fire Dept. is a volunteer ran organization with 22 members.

Our dive team got in some valuable training today! We spent the day refamiliarizing ourselves with our dive equipment, reviewing procedures, and getting back into the water to keep our skills sharp.

Our department currently has six firefighters who are dive certified, giving us an additional specialized capability when responding to water emergencies.

Specialized skills require consistent training, and today was a great opportunity to refresh our knowledge, build confidence, and make sure we’re ready when our community needs us.

Great work by everyone who got in the water today! 🌊🤿🚒

A heartfelt thank you to Snell Services Inc. for the generous donation for our fire hall. Thursday they donated an amazing flag to our department due to ours not being in the best shape. We are greatly appreciate of your generosity.

🎆 Fireworks Safety Reminder from Minatare/Melbeta Volunteer Fire Department 🚒

As we celebrate with family, friends, and fireworks, please remember that safety comes first!

✅ Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby when using fireworks.
✅ Only use fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from homes, dry grass, vehicles, and other flammable materials.
✅ Clear dry grass and combustible materials away from the launch area.
✅ Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
✅ Keep children and pets at a safe distance.
✅ Light one firework at a time and move away quickly.
✅ Never relight a “dud” firework. Wait at least 20 minutes, then soak it in water before disposal.
✅ Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them thoroughly in water before placing them in the trash.

❌ Never hold fireworks in your hand while lighting them.
❌ Never point or throw fireworks at people, animals, or structures.
❌ Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Remember: Even sparklers can reach temperatures of over 1,000°F and can cause serious burns.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and enjoyable this holiday. If an emergency occurs, call 911 immediately.

‼️ Reminder city of Minatare is only allowing fireworks on the following dates with in the city limits:
July 2, 2026 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
July 3, 2026 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
July 4, 2026 8 a.m. - 12 a.m.

Being a firefighter is more than responding to emergencies. It’s serving your community when people need help the most. Every call is different, every day brings new challenges, and every member of this department plays a role in protecting the people we serve. If you’re looking for purpose, teamwork, and the chance to make a difference, we’re looking for you.

Stop down at the Minatare station on Monday nights for an application.

We always enjoy getting out in the community and talking with kids about fire prevention. Today, we covered who to call in an emergency, why firefighters may look different in full gear, and why there’s no need to be afraid—they’re there to help. Of course, we also practiced the important “Stop, Drop, and Roll” technique.

To wrap up the day, everyone had the chance to explore the fire truck and even spray water from the hose. We’re truly grateful for the opportunity to share what we love while helping educate and connect with our community.

Earlier today, the Minatare Melbeta Fire Department sent 2 personnel on a type 6 engine up to the Ashby Fire! Crew is expected to return by morning.
