Steven Michael Weller
March 28, 1947 – March 30, 2026, Steven M. Weller, affectionately known as Steve, passed away on March 30, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at Granite Rehabilitation, with his beloved wife Donna by his side. Born on March 28, 1947, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Steve’s life was a testament to dedication, lifelong learning, and the love he held for his family and community.
From an early age, Steve’s thirst for knowledge was unmistakable. At just 11 years old, he devoured the entire World Encyclopedia Set, a reflection of the curiosity and passion for education that he would carry throughout his entire life. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Wyoming and sought opportunities to expand his skills continually, carrying a crossword puzzle book with him well into his later years as a symbol of his enduring desire to learn.
Steve’s journey through life included a variety of jobs that shaped his character and work ethic. His early years saw him working as a ranch hand, service station attendant, road construction worker, fence builder, building mover, home construction concrete finisher, lumber yard assistant, and beekeeper. Each role added layers to his rich experience and prepared him for the profound impact he would have as an educator.
In 1972, Steve began a remarkable teaching career with the Laramie County School District #2 at Pine Bluffs. Over the course of 30 years, until his retirement in May 2002, he taught a wide range of subjects including Science, Math, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Geology, and Principles of Technology. His commitment to education extended beyond the Jr. High and High school classroom; he served as an outreach teacher for Laramie County Community College and taught extension classes for the University of Wyoming, sharing his knowledge with countless students across Laramie County. His dedication did not go unnoticed, as his superiors honored him with the title of “Master Teacher,” highlighting his ability to instill both knowledge and responsibility in his students while making learning an enjoyable experience.
Beyond academics, Steve’s passions were diverse. He held a deep love for music and was known to have played in several rock bands during his younger days, a testament to his vibrant spirit and joy for life. His service to his country was marked by his time in the Wyoming National Guard, where he further demonstrated duty and commitment.
Steve is survived by his cherished wife Donna; his loving daughter Meri Becker and her husband Chris of California; son Jeff Weller and his wife Shannon of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; and his treasured grandchildren Jason, Jessica, Shelby, Lance, Whitney, and Miles. His family circle also includes his sister Lanna Williams and her husband Don of Florida, sister Linda Miller of Texas, nephew Mike Williams and his wife Chrissy of Missouri, and niece Dawn Hunt and her husband Brady of Texas. Close family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts include Sherri Carlson and her husband Darwin of Scottsbluff, along with their daughters Kirstyn and Kylie, as well as Vince Aulick and his wife Robin, Shane Aulick and his wife Annette, Ginger Aulick, and Jody Chicoine with her husband John, together with their children. He is also remembered by his former wife Emy of California.
Steve lovingly honored and remembered his parents Kathryn Aulick and Joseph C. Weller of Minatare, Nebraska, and his grandparents Louis and Ruth Aulick of Minatare, as well as others who have passed before him: Harry and Shirley Aulick, Jerry and Millie Aulick, Robin Aulick, James and Jimmy Miller, Bonnie and James Loy, Mike Loy, Edna and Vern Breeden, and Bud and Helen Weller. Their memory was always a part of his life’s foundation.

Camelia (Torrez) Arcoren, age 95, of Minatare, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering, Nebraska, with Fr. Gerald Harr as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery near Minatare, Nebraska. Memorials may be made in care of the family. The Mass will be livestreamed and recorded on Camelia’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Camelia “Comie” was born on May 24, 1930, to Augustine and Luz (Saucedo) Torrez in Padroni, Colorado.

She met the love of her life, Clyde R. Arcoren, in a small cafe in North Platte, Nebraska, where she was a waitress. Clyde was a truck driver at the time, and it was love at first sight from the moment their eyes met. The couple were proud parents to four children: Celeste “Dolly”, Clyde “Rick” Jr., Ronnie, and Sheila.

Camelia was known for being a busy mother that often gave more time to others than herself. She was a natural caregiver, that eventually found her calling as a geriatric nurse. Camelia loved her work and felt that admiration reciprocated by her patients. She was everyone’s rock and foundation, especially her family’s. Camelia may have only had four children of her own, but her motherly nature led many others to lovingly refer to her as “mom”. She had a smile for everyone, a unique personality, and wanted to help anyone anyway that she could. Her smile would light up the darkest of places.

She had never met a stranger. Camelia was caring and had the most beautiful heart. She and her daughter, Celeste, were frequent vacation buddies. Camelia often accompanied Celeste to her business meetings, and she was always curious about what was going on in her children’s daily work. She loved her children and grandchildren so much. The sun rised and shined for them when she was around.

Survivors include her daughters, Celeste (Vincent) Sanchez and Sheila (Eli) Martinez; siblings, Pete, Ben, and Nick Torrez, Josie Lintz, and Mary Ellen Gurule; grandchildren, Austin (Connie), Desirea, and Demetrius Martinez, Davian Gonzalez, Cruz Martinez, Monica Moreno, Amiri and Mateo Martinez, Alexus, Vince Jr., and Brandy Sanchez, Jessica Montez, Christy Martinez, and LaTasha Rojas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Richard Arcoren Sr.; sons, Clyde “Rick” Jr. and Ronnie L. Arcoren; sisters, Ramona Mora and Angie Guscette; brothers, Lupe, August “Augie” Jr., and Donnie Torrez; grandson, Vince Sanchez; granddaughter, Jaynada Moreno; and beloved family pets, Duchez and Jiggs.
