As a department we will always strive to serve and protect the great citizens of our community. As we help you escape danger we run towards it. We do this because we believe that we can help. When others turn back or stop we move forward. As a department we will continue to move forward for as long as we can, not because we want to but because we believe it’s the right thing to do. Unfortunately our ability to serve and move forward may be severely impacted in the near future. The Minco Police Department is dismayed at the vote by the Minco City Council to cut next year’s police budget in half. We believed that their vote to increase salary and positions in December of 2022 was genuine and were happy to have some breathing room in our staffing levels for the first time in many years. We will begin working immediately with the city accountant to find ways to continue to provide the best possible service we can with what limited funds we anticipate having. Once we have a clear picture on what those funds will allow us to provide we will share it with the citizens of Minco.
Furthermore, the actions of Council Member Felicia Tinsley at the city council meeting on May 25th 2023 were embarrassing at best and displayed the most unprofessional behavior we have witnessed of a Council Member in over a decade.
I assure you that her attitude does not reflect the values and professionalism of the Minco Police Department and many of the other employees of the City of Minco.

Scam Alert!

Individuals are contacting people and pretending to be law enforcement officers. Often times they will use the names of local deputies or officers. They are asking that a portion of a warrant be paid to them with a green dot or other gift card that can be purchased at any store.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!

The Minco Police Department will not call you and tell you about a warrant. We also will not ask to be paid in gift cards. If you think you have a warrant you can contact city hall to verify it and work with the court clerk to get it cleared up.

If you receive a call like this or any call asking to be paid with a gift card for anything you should note the date, time phone number and whatever name you were given before hanging up and reporting it to the FTC at
reportfraud.ftc.gov
