From the National Weather Service...I do not think this was a tornado, but rather a more focused downburst type of wind.

I attached a PDF containing 3 images.

Image 1: Precipitation. We look for the little "nubs" or small areas trying to act like a little hook. They are subtle.
Image 2: The base wind basically. It shows very strong wind just above ground almost exactly on the spot of the damage.
Image 3: Rotation. There was some broad/wider rotation over the city but it wasn't consistent with a tornado, nor did it last long.

March 25th at 10 am is the statewide tornado drill. Please take part at work or at home. Take time to make a plan if disaster strikes. Also go to http://www.youtube.com/ for more information about being prepared for emergencies.

Effective immediately the Governor has issued an Executive Order that bans the issuance of Open Burn Permits for 14 days. The Executive Order prohibits any fire chief or person designated by the fire chief from granting an open burn permit for any purpose. Any existing burn permit that has not been completed is null and void and open burning is not permitted for 14 consecutive days beginning now.



This order will be reviewed prior to its termination to determine the need to extend the ban. Further information will be provided prior to that date.
