From the Desk of the Chief
Tonight, I want to speak from the heart. ❤️💙
Behind every badge, uniform, radio, fire truck, ambulance, and patrol car is a human being. First responders are trained to run toward danger, carry the weight of tragedy, and stay strong for everyone else — even on the days when we are struggling ourselves.
Too many of our brothers and sisters in public service suffer in silence. Too many feel like they have to “tough it out.” Too many carry pain, trauma, stress, and heartbreak alone. And sadly, too many lives have been lost to su***de.
To every first responder reading this:
You are needed.
You are valued.
You matter more than the uniform you wear.
It is okay to not be okay. It is okay to ask for help. Strength is not found in suffering silently — strength is found in reaching out when the burden becomes too heavy.
If you are hurting, overwhelmed, exhausted, or battling thoughts you cannot handle alone, please talk to someone. Call a friend. Call a pastor. Call a brother or sister in service. Call me.
I mean that sincerely.
No call for help is too small. No conversation is a burden. We spend our lives helping others, and sometimes we need someone to help carry us too.
As a law enforcement family and as a community, we must do better about checking on one another — not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. A simple phone call, a conversation, or a reminder that someone is loved can save a life.
To all first responders: thank you for what you do every single day. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed. And if you need someone, I’m here to help. 🙏💙
