On Monday, the Mine Hill Fire Department made a trip down the hill into Dover to utilize their door prop for forcible entry. We would like to thank Dover FMBA Local 60 for their hospitality and assistance in teaching our members some knew ways to expand our abilities. A special thank you to Lt. Andreano for leading this training!

Yesterday evening the Mine Hill Fire Department conducted low angle rope rescue training on a new embankment created by a commercial development. Members descended to a simulated victim at the bottom of the hill, packaged the victim, and were hauled back to the top. Members utilized the Petzl Maestro to lower the "rescuers" in a controlled manner and then proceeded to convert the system into a 3 to 1 hauling system.

This past Sunday in the early morning hours, the Mine Hill Fire Dept responded with Quint 124 to assist the Wharton Fire Dept with a commercial structure fire at Cafe Luna. Upon arrival the aerial ladder was setup and crew split between ventilation and fire suppression. Great job by all. Photos credit of Tom Finnegan.

Tonight around 10:30pm Chief 1 put our new truck, Squad 3, in service. About 15 minutes later members were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries. Chief 1 and 2 both responded while Squad 3, for the first time ever, followed behind. We would like to thank the Township of Mine Hill for the continued support!

Tonight President Allen Bell and some helpers chose our 3 winners for our 50/50 raffle. Congratulations to our three winners! We would like to take the time to thank everyone that participated in the raffle and supported the Mine Hill Fire Department!

The Mine Hill Fire Department will NOT be offering parking on our field for the duration of the carnival today, due to safety concerns regarding the fireworks. We thank everyone who supported us by parking on the field the past 2 days and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your cooperation!

Mine Hill and Wharton firefighters spent 8 hours today learning various techniques for removing people trapped in various pieces of machinery, with stuck rings, impaled on objects, and snow blower or lawn mower entrapments. Skills were also developed with various cutting tools including saws, grinders, and torches. Training was provided by Tactical Resource Fire Training LLC.

Tonight the Mine Hill Fire Department received our factory orientation for our new truck, Squad 3. Our members learned all about the functions of the truck and how to troubleshoot many different scenarios. While learning about our new truck, our members also brushed up on their drafting skills at the Mine Hill Beach. We appreciate Fire & Safety Services, Ltd. for taking the time to provide this orientation!
