Unfortunatey, todayโ€™s Mini Train run has had to be cancelled due to rain. We thank all of our volunteers who were ready to go if we were able to run but the current conditions and forecast donโ€™t look good for things drying out. We hope to see everyone on our next scheduled run on Saturday, June 20th!

To us, this IS the Spirit of 1776... citizens asking if we mind if they decorate the Depot and City Hall! Fernando Arreola utilized buntings borrowed from the Kiwanis Club to festoon the fence by the Amtrak passenger train platform. Cheryl Wood asked if she could brighten up City Hall. When you are asked what makes Mineola different, this is the answer. We are fortunate to have and grateful for people with hearts the size of Texas willing to go the extra mile for something that is important to them. We can't say thank you enough to both Fernando and Cheryl! Fernando is one of the folks who has been volunteering as a host at the depot and Cheryl decorated Iron Horse Square as well!

06/01/2026

To help protect sanitation workers during the hottest months of the year, Republic Services will begin residential trash collection routes one hour earlier as part of its annual "100 Days of Summer" safety initiative. Collection routes will start at 6:00 a.m. beginning June 1 and continuing through September 1, 2026.

This seasonal adjustment has been successfully implemented in previous years and helps reduce heat-related risks for drivers and helpers who work long hours in extreme Texas summer temperatures. The earlier start time will primarily affect homes located at the beginning of collection routes.

Residents are encouraged to place their trash carts at the curb the night before their scheduled pickup day to ensure timely service.

The City of Mineola appreciates Republic Services' commitment to the safety and well-being of its employees while continuing to provide reliable waste collection services to our community.

Key Dates:
Effective: June 1, 2026
Ends: September 1, 2026
New Collection Start Time: 6:00 a.m.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together to support the health and safety of the crews serving our community.
