Wildscape Garden at Mineola Nature Preserve The Wildscape Gardens, designed and maintained by Texas Master Gardeners, highlight native plants and better gardening practices.

The garden is supported by the City of Mineola and Texas A & M AgriLife Extension. The Wildscape Gardens are designed to highlight native plants for Texas & better gardening practices including rainwater harvesting and composting.

Oh, we have been busy prepping the gardens! There are several events planned at the nature preserve over the next two months. Wood County Master Gardeners are a busy group! Garden signs going up, information being added to the information center and of course a little tidying up taken place.

So, it’s been a hot one at the Wildscape! The last couple of weeks we have been doing some mulching, cleaning out our garden shed and working on a rain barrel.

New platform for the barrel…now looking forward to getting the platform painted and the barrel cleaned up. Surprise coming soon!

We had a great morning at the gardens this morning. A breeze kept us good and cool as we worked. Making progress. Determined the edge for our rain barrel garden and added fresh mulch! Also so a little general maintenance.

So a group of us Wood County Master Gardeners worked this morning but this afternoon we were blessed to have the youth from PaceSetters Leadership Camp join us and provide a little garden help. What a great group of teenagers! We can not say thank you enough for all your hard work!
