💛 Tonight, the Village of Mineola lit its Gold Tree in honor of children and families affected by pediatric cancer.

Held in partnership with The Mary Ruchalski Foundation during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, this meaningful ceremony remembers children whose lives were lost to cancer and honors those who continue to face the disease.

As the tree glows gold throughout September, we encourage our community to pause, remember, and keep these children and families in their thoughts. 💛

Village Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7 for the observance of Labor Day.

The holiday collection schedule for this week is as follows:

If your normal collection days are Monday and Thursday, your garbage will be collected Tuesday and Thursday. Yard Waste will be collected Tuesday, September 8. Rubbish and Recycling will be collected Thursday, September 10.

If your normal collection days are Tuesday and Friday, your garbage will be collected Wednesday and Friday. Yard Waste will be collected Wednesday, September 9. Rubbish and Recycling will be collected Friday, September 11.

There will be no Newspaper/Cardboard collection this week.

September is shaping up to be an exciting month in the Village of Mineola! 🎉

Join us on Friday, September 4, as we celebrate the Village of Mineola’s 120th Birthday beginning at 6:30 PM on Second Street between Mineola Boulevard and Main Street. The celebration will be followed by Sounds on Second Street at 7:30 PM, featuring the VHS Cover Band as they rewind to the best decades in rock, along with your favorite dance and freestyle classics!

On Friday, September 11 at 6:00 PM, the community is invited to gather in Mineola Memorial Park for a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. The keynote speaker will be Michael Balboni, President of Adelphi University and former New York State Senator.

Then, don’t miss the final Concert in the Park of the season on Saturday, September 12 at 7:30 PM in Mineola Memorial Park! Decadia will perform the biggest hits of the ’80s and ’90s, with a spectacular laser show lighting up the concert throughout the night.

Celebrate, remember, and enjoy the music this September in Mineola!

The Village of Mineola will hold its annual Gold Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, September 3 at 6:30 PM in front of Mineola Fire Department Headquarters, 171 Jericho Turnpike, to raise awareness of pediatric cancer.

Held in partnership with the Mary Ruchalski Foundation as part of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, the ceremony honors children and families affected by pediatric cancer, including those who have lost loved ones and those who continue to face the disease.

Each September, the Village illuminates the tree in gold to remember the children whose lives were lost to cancer and to raise awareness of the need for greater investment in pediatric cancer research.

Residents are encouraged to attend this meaningful ceremony and to keep children and families affected by pediatric cancer in their thoughts whenever they see the tree shining in gold throughout the month of September.

The Village of Mineola invites residents and members of the community to attend our 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11 at 6:00 PM in Mineola Memorial Park.
