The Nassau County Police Department conducts intensified school patrols every day as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our students, staff, and schools safe.

In light of the tragic school shooting in Oregon, County Executive Blakeman and Commissioner Ryder have directed a further increase of our patrol presence at schools throughout the county as an added precaution.

There are currently no known threats to Nassau County.

However, we take these incidents extremely seriously and will continue to take every necessary measure to ensure the safety of our communities.

💙🤝 Bringing Our Community Together!

The Nassau County Police Department was proud to organize this year’s National Faith & Blue Weekend, an annual event dedicated to strengthening the bonds between law enforcement and the communities we serve. Each year, we host the event at different houses of worship. This year, we were honored to hold the event at Young Israel of Woodmere!

Bringing people of all backgrounds and faiths together, Faith & Blue creates meaningful opportunities to build trust, foster understanding, and strengthen community relationships.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet our officers, learn about their work, and enjoy demonstrations by several of our specialized units, including the Emergency Services Unit, Bureau of Special Operations, Canine Unit, Mounted Unit, Highway Patrol Motorcycle Platoon and Arson/Bomb Squad.

A special thank you to Young Israel of Woodmere for hosting us and to everyone who came out to connect with our officers and fellow community members!

Thank you Simply Spinelli Café for hosting our annual Coffee With A Cop event yesterday. We loved meeting you all! ☕️🚓
