Please be advised of upcoming bridge maintenance work at S. Franklin Avenue in Valley Stream.

Beginning Friday, September 11, weather permitting, crews will perform essential maintenance, including painting and repairs to the bridge's steel and concrete elements.

Work Schedule:�• September 11–13�• September 18–20�• September 25–27�• Continuous work from 10:00 PM Friday through 10:00 PM Sunday each weekend.

To accommodate the work, full lane closures beneath the bridge will be in effect. Detours will be clearly marked, and access to the Valley Stream LIRR Station will be maintained. Motorists are encouraged to use Hicks Streetand Rockaway Avenue as alternate routes.

Backpacks packed, supplies ready, and students getting set for a new school year!

I was proud to attend UBS Arena’s Backpack Giveaway, where local students received free backpacks filled with school essentials. Events like this are a great reminder that supporting our students goes beyond the classroom, it’s about making sure families have the resources they need to succeed.

I was proud to attend The Valley Stream Hoopers Classic alongside Assemblymember Michaelle Solages, celebrating a great day of basketball, youth development, and community.

Founded by Shariff Harris through Hoop Valley Stream, The Hoopers Classic brought together young athletes, families, and dedicated volunteers for a free community basketball event focused on creating positive opportunities for our youth.

I was honored to present Hoop Valley Stream with a citation recognizing their commitment to youth development and community engagement, and to donate brand-new backpacks to help local students head into the new school year prepared for success.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Office Hours and Backpack Giveaway! It was a pleasure meeting with members of our community, answering questions, and helping connect residents with the resources they need.

I’m especially happy we could help local kids get excited for the new school year with a new backpack and school supplies. Bringing government directly to the community and making sure our residents know that their government is here for them is one of my top priorities.

A special thank you to the Lynbrook Public Library for welcoming us and allowing us to host this event. I look forward to continuing to bring resources and services directly to the communities I represent.

More courts, more opportunities, and more ways for everyone to play!

I was proud to join NY State Parks & Historic Sites for the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated basketball courts at Valley Stream State Park. This project expanded the basketball courts from two to three, including a fully ADA-accessible court with adjustable hoops that can lower to two feet!

I’m especially excited that students from the Viscardi School will be using the accessible court, making this a meaningful addition for our entire community.

Thank you to Parks Commissioner Kathy Moser, Assemblymember Michaelle Solages, and everyone on the NYS parks team for their leadership and partnership in making this project possible. I’m proud to see this state investment bring greater access and opportunity to Valley Stream.

It was a pleasure to attend the Lynbrook Community Chest Mayor’s Golf Outing, a wonderful annual tradition that brings together leaders, businesses, and residents from across Lynbrook.

I’m always grateful for opportunities to spend time with the Lynbrook community and celebrate the people who help make our community such a special place. Events like this are a great way to connect, enjoy a beautiful day, and recognize those making a difference locally.

Congratulations to this year’s honorees, Bruce Levitt, Michael V. Paladino, and Dr. Ben Tieniber, on this well-deserved recognition. It was a pleasure to celebrate their accomplishments and contributions alongside so many members of the Lynbrook community.

Bringing government closer to home starts with showing up, listening, and making sure our community has a seat at the table.

Thank you to Assemblymember Michaelle Solages for joining us at our Town Hall at Veterans Of Foreign Wars VFW Post 1790, and to Assemblywoman Judy Griffin for having staff representation and providing valuable state resources to our residents. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came out, asked questions, shared concerns, and made your voices heard.

One of my promises as your Legislator is to bring help and government to you—not make you navigate government alone. Thank you to everyone who showed up and continues to make LD14 such a strong community. I am proud to represent you and will continue working to make sure you have access to the resources, information, and support you deserve.
