Here are the highlights from the August 12 Common Council meeting:
โข Administrator Transition โ Mayor Clark and Council members thanked Administrator Matt Honer for his service to the City over the past three and a half years and for his efforts in helping move Mineral Point forward. Honer thanked the Mayor, Council, and City staff for their support and the opportunity to serve the City.
โข Approved a Conditional Use Permit for a home occupation at 333 Harris Street, with the condition that there be no customer foot traffic or storefront at the residence.
โข Brewery Creek Subdivision โ Approved Pay Application #3 from Owens Excavating and Trenching, Inc. for work on the Brewery Creek Subdivision 1st Addition.
โข High Street Events โ Approved the closure of the 100 block of High Street for the Chamber of Commerce Street Dance on August 22 and a High Street closure from N. Wisconsin Street to Vine Street for fireworks observation during Candlelight Shopping on December 5.
โข Part-Time Police Officer โ Approved the hiring of Skylar Burkholder as a part-time police officer. Burkholder currently serves as a full-time deputy with Lafayette County and will work additional hours for the City as needed.
โข Maiden Street Repairs โ Approved repairs to approximately 450 feet of Maiden Street from N. Chestnut Street west to Meeker Street.
โข Fountain Street Lift Station Generator โ Approved the purchase, delivery, and installation of a permanent backup generator for the Fountain Street Lift Station.
โข Pittz Premier Property, LLC โ Postponed action on the Promissory Note and General Business Security Agreement to allow additional time for legal review and coordination of all related agreements.
