Did you know that 14 to 17 year olds can join the fire department as Junior Members and that 16 and 17 year olds can start taking the North Carolina certification courses to receive their Firefighter II?

Even if firefighting isn't the career you intend to pursue, you will learn responsibility, team work, and gain a trade that you can fall back on or work to put yourself through school.

Members are also eligible for exclusive scholarships and gain invaluable experience serving their community.

NC State Trooper Lopez was struck during an accident investigation in July and was critically injured. His family resides here in our fire district and we are trying to do all we can to help them during the stressful time of his long recovery. As part of that Mineral Springs Fire & Rescue is conducting a raffle from which every dollar will go directly to the Lopez family. The community and our members have very generously stepped up and donated an assortment of prizes which can be viewed on the event page and which continue to be added. Prizes will be drawn on Sept. 1, 2020.

We will be out at Iron Horse Motorcycles on Saturday from 9-Noon selling tickets. We will have several of our apparatus there for the public to check out as well. They are also hosting a separate event that day to benefit a local motorcyclist which will feature a poker run, live music and a 50/50 raffle. This is a great chance to come out and support two fantastic causes, listen to some music, check out some fire trucks and see the awesome assortment of ATV's and motorcycles they have there.

Information on purchasing tickets via Venmo or at the station is available on the event page. Trooper Lopez Benefit Raffle Drawing
