This morning, during National Police Week and following Peace Officers Memorial Day, a wonderful local resident dropped off these beautiful challenge coins for our officers.

Police Week is a time of deep reflection for us as we honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Gestures like this remind us exactly why we love serving Mineral Wells. To the resident who brought these inβ€”your kindness means the world to our entire team. Thank you for standing with us. πŸš”

πŸ•Š National Police Week 2026: May 11 - 17th πŸ’™

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls, as National Police Week. During this time, we remember and honor all Law Enforcement Officers who have fallen in the line of duty in the protection and service to others.

Isaiah 6:8 "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'"

To our Brothers and Sisters who willingly answered, "Send me!" and did not return home, we honor and thank them and their families. To our Brothers and Sisters who have worn or currently wear the uniform, we honor and recognize your service and thank you and your families every day.

Mineral Wells Police Department is assisting multiple law enforcement agencies, Young County Sheriff’s Office, Graham PD, and DPS who successfully pursued and stopped a vehicle traveling from Graham to Mineral Wells.

The vehicle stopped on Western Hills near Travis Dr. and Cactus. Three subjects have been apprehended and there is still a fourth who has not been located yet.

Numerous agencies are currently involved in the search. They are utilizing a K9 unit along with other technology to search for the 4th subject.

At this time, there is no reason to believe there is any threat to the public, and authorities do not believe the suspect has any weapons.

The outstanding suspect is described as a male having a dark complexion, approximately 17 years old, and believed to be wearing a white t-shirt with red markings.

We appreciate the continued dedication, teamwork, and professionalism of all agencies involved in keeping our communities safe. If anyone has information, please contact local law enforcement.

Please stay inside as there is a high police presence along with a K9 Unit.
