Mother Nature is ramping up for another snow/rain/and wind storm this week. Here are a few last-minute tips to help prepare for the storm.
If you have a generator, make sure it is fueled up and vented properly. Carbon Monoxide is a tasteless, odorless gas that is fatal.
If you have to go to work, make sure your vehicle is fueled up just in case roadways are closed and you have to take a long detour.
If you don't have to be outside don't be...With winds estimated at a sustained 20 MPH and gust expected between 50-70 MPH a tree branch becomes a deadly weapon.
If you have something in your yard or your house that can become airborne remove it or tie it down. That cute windchime could take a little trip to your neighbors.
Make sure to have any battery-operated items like your cell phone or medical equipment charged up. If we lose power, we usually don't know how long it would be out for.
Keep a bucket or a few pans of water on hand to help flush your toilets when needed.
Please do not use a bar-b-que grill indoors. Not only is is a fire hazard but it off gasses carbon monoxide (remember it is fatal).
Whatever you do, please stay safe.
