Pray for your pastors, their spouses and families.

It's a hard family position where your job, support group, friends, and place of worship are woven together. It's a glass house that leaves many spouses alone and families vulnerable. Where does the shepherd go to find comfort or grace? The friends say be real and one with us, yet the reality is they are just as messed up as you. Because they are not super human or supernatural but just frail humans they need permission and covenant relationships that promise they can be real and share their heart in a way that is pure, raw and healing.

Pray for their ability to live life full and express the passion that drew them to ministry in the first place. Pray they can experience the grace of God through you and the Almighty, especially in you.
Because you are forgiven and loved even when in the midst of darkness. Share this grace with your Pastor in their time of Joy, victory and in times of pain and loneliness.

God has blessed many of us with great pastors. So I guess my request is to just pray with love over their family. Because many of you are their friends, support group, co-workers, brothers and sisters.

Thanks Church!

Encourage: Balancing family and ministry. Here is an article with some insight into being family while giving your life to ministry. What are your thoughts??

Pete Briscoe has served since 1992 as pastor of Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Dallas. He and his wife, Libby, have three children: Cameron, Annika, and Liam. Pete's parents, Stuart and Jill Briscoe, ministered for 30 years at Elmbrook Church in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Equip & Encourage: Check out this great article we found about doing ministry.

I personally think a sign of a good book, article or post is when it gets you worked up, inspired, agitated or just plain mad. There was one such article this morning on CatalystSpace. It was written by Tim Schraeder (a friend from Chicago). You can read the original article here.

We are building a community of people related to or directly involved in ministry. So if you, your sister, brother, mother or father is involved in minstry this is for you. - Help us get the word out about a new place to connect and be equiped and encouraged.
