Please join Senator Bobby Joe Champion (59), Representative Esther Agbaje (59B), and Representative Fue Lee (59A), for a special Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, February 11th from 5:30 to 8:00pm to discuss the 2025 Legislative Session, receive feedback, and field questions from constituents.

Location: University of Minnesota Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center (UROC) 2001 Plymouth Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411.

A meal and refreshments will be offered at 5:30 p.m. and the panel discussion will begin promptly at 6:15 p.m.

Starting Jan. 1, 2025, the Minneapolis Minimum Wage will increase to $15.97. Employers must display this Labor Standards poster in workplaces and distribute it to new hires, plus issue written, prehire notices (in electronic or printed form, including Spanish if needed) to all employees at the start of their employment. Join Move Minneapolis & Minneapolis Regional Chamber for the 2024 Transportation Summit to explore how businesses experience construction around transportation infrastructure projects, and to contribute to a cross-sector conversation on how to support local businesses. We hope to provide some ways to navigate through the planning and building process so that the ribbon-cutting ceremony is a joyous celebration.

Speakers will share experiences of going through construction related to transportation infrastructure projects, solutions both proven and aspirational, and ideas for what can help businesses navigate and survive through construction around transportation infrastructure projects. Roundtable discussions will foster idea generation around future potential solutions.

Phase 1 is planned for Friday and Saturday September 27th and 28th.

Phase 2 is planned for October 7th through October 12th.

Shekinah ‘Ki’ Kuhnly comes to East Town as an experienced champion of Downtown Minneapolis. Previously she served as the Event Manager with Mpls Downtown Council where she supported Aquatennial, Holidazzle, MDC’s member programs, Annual Meeting and Annual Fundraiser. Prior to becoming a full-time event professional and owner of Soulful Events, she worked in higher education at the University of St. Thomas and received her Master of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
