This Memorial Day, we honor the American service members who gave their lives in defense of our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today and remains the foundation of our strength as a nation.

For decades, the C-130 Hercules has carried Airmen into combat, delivered humanitarian aid, evacuated the wounded, and supported missions around the world. Behind every mission are the memories of those who never returned home; warriors whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we remember the fallen, we reaffirm our commitment to readiness, strength, and the defense of the United States. We honor their legacy by remaining prepared to answer the call.

Mission readiness is built through teamwork and precision maintenance.

Airmen from the 910th Maintenance Squadron supported the 934th Airlift Wing during a multi-week isochronal inspection on a C-130H Hercules at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio. The inspection focused on preventative maintenance to ensure the aircraft remains mission-ready and prepared to support operations whenever called upon.

Partnerships like these strengthen readiness, sharpen combat capability, and reinforce the Air Force Reserve’s ability to project airpower anywhere in the world.

Readiness is built through repetition, discipline, and constant training.

Echoing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s message on maintaining a combat-ready force, Airmen from the 934th Security Forces Squadron “Viking Defenders” conducted range training to sharpen critical marksmanship and tactical skills.

Training like this ensures our Defenders remain prepared to protect the force, execute the mission, and respond whenever called.

The standard remains the standard.

Airmen assigned to Minneapolis–St. Paul Air Reserve Station participated in a Wingman Wellness Field Day during the May UTA, reinforcing resilience, teamwork, and mission readiness through a series of morale-focused activities.

The event brought Airmen together outside of the traditional duty environment, strengthening trust, communication, and cohesion across units. These efforts reflect a broader emphasis on building physically capable, mentally resilient, and team-oriented forces.

Field Day served as a reminder that readiness is not limited to technical proficiency, but is built through strong teams, shared experiences, and a culture that prioritizes the well-being of every Airman.
