Today's speaker was Olha Podvalna, a psychotherapist from Ukraine. She brought her perspective to us as a mental health practitioner working in a war zone. Her message: People are capable of doing amazing and resilient things, even under the most inhumane conditions.

We also heard a presentation from Mid Minnesota Legal Aid about their Immigration Law Project which received support from our Unite for Good fund, and welcomed regular visiting Rotarian Roberto's daughter Juana!

What an inspiring meeting! Our speaker was Sara Dziuk, President of Junior Achievement North . She inspired us with the work Junior Achievement is doing to show a new generation of youth the breadth of opportunities available to them so they can see and realize the potential in themselves. We are proud to have contributed to Junior Achievement as part of our service commitment this year.

There were so many more things that happened at the meeting, we can't pack them into one social media post, so look for more updates all week!

Today, Dr John Mazis from Hamline University spoke about the history of Fascism. These are young movements, launched in Italy in 1919. Fascist movements says they are a new way neither right or left. Fear of difference, control of media, arbitrary judgements are part of the fascist program. Classical Fascism ended in 1945, but we can learn a lot of lessons about parts of Fascism that continue to show up all around the world today.
