I’m facilitating two week long class at The Loft Literary Center and have a few spots available in each class. Writing The Dark begins July 8 and Exploring The City, my writing-about-town class starts July 29! Ages 13 to 17.

Jeanne Bain has an affinity for fanfic, all things dark, producing community radio, and singing Broadway showtunes out of key while doing dishes. Her teaching and writing focus on creative process, rather than product, which allows the moments of our ordinary, everyday lives to inspire the extraordi...

Hey, look! I started blogging, again. It's about the Mama Connect event and more. This marketing stuff is hard. Vulnerability doesn't have to be. This branding/target market stuff is hard, too. Especially when my audience is sometimes teens, sometimes elders, sometimes artists, sometimes parents. I'd love your observations! And/or your solidarity!

Posted on March 22, 2018March 22, 2018 by JeanneFinding Clarity with Mama Connect! When deciding to offer an event for Mamas, I wanted it to be under a project I have called, “Authentic Connections: Transformational Networking Events.” And I think that’s been confusing for folks. Years ago,....

Setting dates for Emotional Fitness Playshops. Are you in? Which ones are you looking for? Couples? Parents of Teens? Singles? Message us for more information!

From the most recent Parents of Teens Event:

EMOTIONAL FITNESS FOR PARENTS!

Longing for those ECFE classes now that your babies are teens?

Join other parents in an afternoon exploration around common challenges in raising our tweens and teens.

What's Emotional Fitness?

It's a supportive, collective problem-solving workshop that helps us notice our stuckness in parenting, allows us to open to new ideas and offers new ways to connect with our teen.

Every participant chooses their own level of involvement (so no one has to be nervous)

You are invited to:

1.) Put your parenting challenge on a 3 x 5 card and put it anonymously in the "Issue Box"
2.) Participate as an audience member, holding space for new solutions to arrive
3.) Offer to represent a player in one of the scenarios selected from the box
4.) When the action returns, shout STOP and offer new solutions after the original scene has been played

As a community, we will explore different options, alternative endings and new language around issues that parents have when communicating with their teenagers. Care will be taken to respect the privacy and anonymity of the teenagers. We have so much in common as parents of teens, regardless of the individual stories. Let's problem-solve together in a spirit of play and connection.

Emotional Fitness draws on the tradition of Forum theater. The curious can explore further here...

Hello parents of teens and tweens! What a FULL time of year! Because we had some cancellations AND lower registrations than we would like, we've decided to reschedule for a date in January when things are a little bit quieter! Feel free to check out the couples class next week!

The Story

Jeanne loves to be in rooms filled with teenagers, adults and even not-yet tweens while they explore their own creative process. She holds a BA in Theater (art minor) and an MA in Human Development. She has taught at The Loft Literary center for the past 11 years, holds a certificate in Yoga Teacher (200 hour Yoga Alliance) and is a NETA Certified Fitness Instructor, which proves her theory that it doesn't matter what she is facilitating, just that she is facilitating. Her eclectic background gives her a deep understanding of people and an open attitude towards everyone's individual life path. She loves to help people reframe their stories, release the stories that aren't serving them and for some, help them say what they need to say at the end of life. There are three ways to work with Jeanne. You could take in-person playshops or classes, attend one of her Networking Events, or participate in coaching sessions. Your non-profit could bring her in to create engaging programs for your participants. Your company could collaborate with her to create new, exciting events that inspire teamwork and creative thinking.
