From Point Beach peninsula Park Steward lead:
"Grateful for forestry to crew being out there to cut down some massive and dying Elm trees that totaled 11 dead Elms removed from two areas. One area is to the east just behind the canoe racks and the other is to the west close to the perimeter walking path that runs on the north side. Also, upon my request to remove some of the massive trunks of fallen cottonwoods.

Have to admit that I'm feeling a bit, overwhelmed by the volume of clearing. And the compactness of the soil left behind. A bit concerned about the areas ability to recover.
