01/25/2025

From 12:00 am on Monday, September 23, 2024 through 5:20 am on Friday, September 27, 2024, greater downtown Minneapolis received 14.36” of rain.

9/23, 1.29” in 24 hours
9/24, 1.29” in 24 hours
9/25, 4.14” in 24 hours
9/26, 5.05” in 24 hours
9/27, 2.59” in 5 hours 20 minutes

Power went out at 5:20 am on 9/27, so I have no additional data for the remainder of 9/27. (Side note, rain for 9/1 - 9/27, 18.11”). NOAA historical data shows September average rainfall is 5.43” (1991-2020) and an annual average 49.47”.

By 2 am on 9/26, North Toe was beginning to breach the banks along North US Hwy 19E. At the same time, the lands across the river (school side of river) were already flooded as the river had reached the playground, the big ‘ole pine tree, and was within 30’ of Lola and Ittoween Young’s home place.
