Page Education Foundation

Page Education Foundation The Page Education Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1988 by NFL Hall of Famer Alan Page, and his wife, Diane Sims Page.

Our mission is to create heroes through education and service. In 1988, Diane and Alan Page created the Page Education Foundation (501c3) to encourage Minnesota students of color to pursue post-secondary education. From its inception, the Page Education Foundation has offered financial assistance to students of color facing barriers to attaining their educational dreams. In turn, these young leade

rs return to their communities to serve as tutors and role models for elementary and junior high school students. In its first year, the Foundation awarded Page Grants for post-secondary education to 10 Page Scholars. Thirty-five years later, over $16 million in Page Grants has been awarded to more than 8,000 Page Scholars. Our Page Scholars have given nearly 500,000 hours of volunteer service to communities across Minnesota, impacting the lives of over 50,000 children. Alan, with a public and successful career as a professional football player and then as a Minnesota Supreme Court Justice, was and is the face of the Page Education Foundation, but Diane was its heart and soul. Diane died of cancer on September 29, 2018. Today, guided and inspired by Diane’s vision and commitment to creating opportunities—and hope—for Minnesota students of color, Alan and the Page Education Foundation continue her work. In 2020, the Page Education Foundation’s board members agreed to rename the organization “The Page Education Foundation founded by Diane and Alan Page,” doing business as the Page Education Foundation in order to more directly recognize Diane’s crucial role in starting and growing the foundation.

Our graduating class of Golden Gophers from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities stopped by last week to pick up their Page Alumni graduation stoles alongside the Page Team: Nicole Jacquez, Laisha Martinez Olguin, Godwin Kasongoma, Amran Yusuf, and Bernie Nandi. 💜🎓

It was a bittersweet moment. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished and the incredible milestone they worked so hard to reach, but emotional knowing we will not see them around in the same way next school year. 🥹

Page Scholar Amran Yusuf, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Political Science, shared:

“The Page Education Foundation’s support went far beyond funding my education, they gave me a community to grow in, spaces to serve, and the confidence to lead. I didn’t just get help through college, I became someone I’m proud of!”

Congratulations, Scholars! You’re our heroes. Your Page family will always be here cheering you on! ✨

Congratulations to Page Scholar Alum Ethan Del Val Perez on graduating this spring from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a degree in Finance & MIS and minors in Accounting & Business Analytics! 🎓💜

When Ethan stopped by to pick up his graduation stole, he shared:

“The Page Education Foundation has helped me so much I cannot begin to describe it. I am where I am today because of them. It pushed me to new levels that I never thought possible.”

Ethan has been such a bright light at our annual events, bringing joy, humor, and heart to everything he does. The Page Team is going to miss seeing him around so often, but we are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and cannot wait to see where life takes him next. 🥹✨

Congratulations to Page Scholar Alum, Laisha Martinez Olguin, on her graduation from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities! 🎓💜

Laisha celebrated this milestone by baking us a beautiful flan cake and honestly, it reminded us so much of our co-founder Alan Page’s children’s book, Baking Up Love. 📖 🍮✨

“The Page Education Foundation helped me get through school financially, but especially helped me build connections through Page and my place of volunteering. I couldn’t have done it without the support of those connections.” - Laisha🥇📓

We are so proud of you, Laisha, and cannot wait to see all the good you will bring into the world. 🌎

Thank you to everyone who stopped by MSP Airport in March to celebrate the Stars of the North Storytime series! ✨📚

We loved seeing so many of you come out to meet the incredible authors featured—including our very own Alan Page and Kamie Page—along with illustrator David Geister.

Your support, energy, and love for storytelling made it such a special experience. 💜

You can grab your own copy of Grandpa Alan’s Sugar Shack anytime at www.page-ed.org. Proceeds from every book sold help advance our mission of encouraging Minnesota students of color to pursue postsecondary education.

A special thank you to our friends and the incredible staff at Bruce Vento Elementary for hosting this meaningful visit with Page Education Foundation Co-Founder, Alan Page. It was a joy to see him share his children’s books with students and connect through storytelling.

We were especially delighted to discover the many connections we share with the school community—including educators who are parents of Page Scholars and even a former Minnesota Vikings cheerleader among the staff!

We are truly grateful to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community.
