ETHIOPIA AND THE UAE STRENGTHEN ECONOMIC TIES WITH NEW TRADE AND INVESTMENT AGREEMENT!

Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates are taking steps to deepen their economic partnership following the opening of the Ethiopia--UAE Trade and Investment Forum in Addis Ababa.

The forum has brought together 19 representatives from 10 Emirati companies and more than 140 Ethiopian businesspeople to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and business cooperation.

Discussions are focused on key sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, trade, and food security, with the aim of expanding investment and strengthening economic ties between the two sides.

The forum concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Addis Ababa and Sharjah Chambers of Commerce, establishing a framework for closer cooperation in trade and investment.

The agreement marks another step toward strengthening Ethiopia--UAE economic relations and creating new opportunities for businesses in both markets.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed has issued a strong appeal to the youth of Tigray, urging them to abandon armed conflict and channel their energy into rebuilding their region.

Abiy highlighted the devastating consequences of the war, including loss of life, physical injuries, psychological trauma, and widespread destruction of infrastructure and livelihoods.

He stressed that many young people had lost their lives in the conflict, while countless others continue to suffer from injuries and the lasting physical and emotional scars of war.
