African Community Senior Services a community organization for the East Africans in Minnesota The overall mission of ACSS is to build viable services for African seniors in our community.

African Community Senior Services (ACSS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization serving senior African immigrants and refugees living in the Twin Cities Metro Area, primarily individuals from East Africa. ACSS works on many projects that are essential to the community we serve, and is quickly becoming a well-known community organization that connects our clients to health care services an

d other vital supportive and stabilizing services in the community. We fulfill this mission by providing or connecting clients to transportation, translation/interpretation, supportive and stabilizing services as well as providing health care education, outreach, and enrollment services to East African immigrant communities. Services are targeted to individuals in the Twin Cities Metro Area who are low-income, age 60 and older, and have limited English speaking ability. African Community Senior Services has established a strong reputation in the community and have helped hundreds of community members connect to community resources and enroll/renew in health insurance coverage. ACSS directly serves a hard-to-reach population of low-income senior African immigrants and refugees with complex immigration status. ACSS also engages numerous volunteers that provide outreach and education to seniors in the community.
