h the Summer Solstice, with repeating blooms until frost. First built in 1929, and reconstructed in 1983, the Peace Garden features the earliest outdoor blooms in Minneapolis. The natural design provides a brilliant yet calm place to stroll, sit and meditate. The Annual/Perennial Border showcases bold color with four large beds bordered with lovely perennial-lined walkways. The Peony entrance, blooming in early June, is always jawdropping! The Perennial Trial Garden is maintained beautifully by volunteers from the Men's Garden Club of Minneapolis. Perennials are tested for three years on their performance in our challenging climate. The newest additions to Lyndale Park are the Butterfly and Hummingbird Gardens. Located just north of the Peace Garden, colorful perennials and annuals have been carefully selected to attract some of our favorite winged friends.
