Neighbors speak up when others stay silent. Yet Target continues its silence while authoritarian repression ramps up. On June 2nd we hand-delivered our request for Target to sign the Business for Democracy pledge to Board member Doug Baker and heard nothing. So we delivered the request to multiple store leaders in the Twin Cities and they committed to sending it up the chain. Staff seemed to share our desire for Target to help defend our democratic rights!
We’ve asked for Target’s support as customers and neighbors. Yet they remain silent.
As summer heats up, it’s time to turn up the heat on Target. Corporations have tremendous influence in this country, and companies like Target, who speak often about community and shared values, have a duty to use that influence to defend democratic freedoms.
Target needs to hear from all of us: speak up, sign the pledge, and stand on the side of democracy and with your neighbors in Minnesota!
Neighbors speak up. Neighbors show up and protect what matters.
Target , are you our neighbor?
The Business for Democracy Pledge is linked in our bio.
