❄Today is the Blizzard Bag Blitz! ❄

90% of Meals on Wheels recipients say their daily meal makes up more than half of what they eat each day. If hazardous winter conditions prevent volunteers from safely delivering a daily meal, we want to make sure everyone has food to get by until the roads are safe for deliveries again! That's where Blizzard Bags come in. These bags are filled with shelf stable, easy-to-prepare foods to fill in the gaps.

Join HFS as a Meals on Wheels Assistant! In this role, you'll support this important community program by coordinating meal preparation, packaging, and readying distribution for HFS volunteers to deliver to neighbors. Work 25 hours per week, 8:30AM-2PM, primarily off-site at Allina Health United Hospital - Hastings Regina Campus. Application deadline: Nov. 1, 2026, at 5PM.

Before CES's Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers hit the road, there’s a whole lot happening behind the scenes. 📦❤️

Every morning, CES staff and volunteers work together to pack and prepare hundreds of Meals on Wheels deliveries before our volunteer drivers arrive.

Last year, CES Meals on Wheels delivered more than 82,000 meals to 532 seniors and adults with limited mobility. That’s a pretty big production, and it takes a dedicated team to keep it moving!

And every bag carries more than a meal. It brings nourishing food, a friendly face, a wellness check, and a moment of connection to a neighbor’s door.
