You've heard of spring cleaning, but have you heard about FALL cleaning? 🍂

As we move into a new month and soon a new season, we're ready for our next budget relief donation drive of kitchen and cleaning supplies. Being able to prepare your own food or keep your space clean are things we all need, and with the current funding constraints, it can take more time and effort to keep up with the need for supplies. This month's donation drive of kitchen and cleaning supplies will not only maintain our shelter and housing participants' autonomy and dignity, but ensure that staff, volunteers, and interns are able to care for our buildings.

After the sad news of Dolly Parton's passing, yesterday, we thought a little love and joy should come across your feeds in the form of some of Tubman staff's four-legged family members for . Dolly was an advocate for humans and animals-alike, and will be greatly missed. Peace, love, and Tubman!

Yesterday, we welcomed about 30 new interns, volunteers, and staff to Tubman with our Fall Saturday orientation and training! Big thanks to our Intern & Volunteer Services Team for putting on another great start to this training series, and to the new folks coming onboard committed to serving our community through Tubman's mission! We can't wait to have you in your new roles!

August is almost over, but there's still time to donate to our monthly Budget Relief donation drive! This month we're collecting office and school supplies, not only for the people we serve, but for our staff, volunteers, and interns. Many of our staff rely on old-fashioned pens, paper, and other office supplies to do their work, and due to stagnant government funding, these items have also risen in cost.

We did some time travelling back to the 1970s today: safe to say, our annual staff appreciation day was DYN-O-MITE! 🪩

Thank you to the staff, volunteers, and interns who helped make today special as we continue to celebrate 50 years of Tubman. We love having the opportunity to connect and have fun across our programs and locations, and honor milestone staff for their commitment over the years.
Special thanks to Hamburguesas El Gordo and Lildippersoftserve for providing lunch and dessert, and to North Star Therapy Animals of Pet Partners, Minneapolis Mehndi & Henna, and Yoga by Amy for our activities throughout the day!

We're becoming one with nature today🌲🌳

Heads up, many of Tubman's staff, volunteers and interns will be out of office today for our annual Staff Appreciation Day. Our reception desks will be closed all day in both Minneapolis and Maplewood, as well as our NorthStar Youth Outreach Center.

Shelter and housing services and our 24/7 resource and crisis line will remain open and can be reached at 612-825-0000.

With nearly all survivors experiencing economic abuse, it is almost impossible to build greater financial and personal resilience and stability without safe and stable housing.

Allianz Life's support of Tubman's transitional housing, shelter, and Rapid Rehousing programs gives clients like "Amina" the opportunity to move into their own apartments, go back to school, buy a car so they can get to their new job on time, and support themselves and their families.
