Facebook keeps bothering me to post things. After seeing many departments doing Community Night Outs events & still recovering from Festag, I thought of a fun community event, after you visit our local businesses, go to Wells 😁.

Stay Safe,

As the 74th Festag approaches, I would like to highlight a few things. First, it has been brought to my attention about kids riding their bikes and scooters on the sidewalks. If you are a proud parent of a free range child, please remind them the sidewalk is for walking and not riding on. Second, you may have noticed your cell phones are displaying a 5G. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, the temporary cell tower has been powered up, enjoy it while you can. ( C ) Once the Stage gets brought into town, we will be closing main street to Thru traffic. During this time, you may still enter onto Main street to get your mail or do other business. When you see barricades on the side streets and the cement barricades go up on main street, that is when you cannot drive to or on main street.
A Free Sober bus will be provided on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the bus will be parked on the stage end of main street, by the Great Escape.

Have a great day,

Chief Standahl

With the 4th of July quickly approaching, the MLPD graphics department (I used AI) has created a not really but kind of satirical guide on when or when not to dial 911. If you plan on celebrating this weekend, be safe and be neighborly. No matter how much you've spent on spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, ho**ey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter sticks, just know your display will pale in comparison to the fireworks on Festag. In a recent Poll, the Fireworks show for Festag has been voted the "Best Fireworks Show in the State of Minnesota on a Wednesday night, after a parade." (Poll was 3 random people I know). You can see the Best Fireworks Show in Minnesota on a Wednesday night after a parade this year, on July 15th.

Stay safe, Stay Cool

Frank the Coyote has had a hard time here in town. Last year someone stole his tail and one of his legs, recently someone thought it would be funny take him bungee jumping...without the bungee. It is a good thing Frank underwent intense training before taking his job and was able to hold his breath until I was able to fish him out. What upsets him the most is now he stinks and he needs a bath. Frank and his friends are at the park to dissuade the geese from entering the playground area. They aren't always successful at keeping the geese out but I believe having the Coyotes there has decreased the amount of "gifts" these Angry Cobra Chickens leave in that area. In you are at the park and see anyone messing with the Coyotes either let me know or tell them to stop. If this continues the Coyotes will be removed, Frank didn't sign up for these types of shenanigans.

Thanks for your cooperation,
Chief Standahl
