Are you interested in getting more involved in our community? The city of Minnetrista is seeking volunteers to serve on the Steering Committee for the 2050 Comprehensive Plan update. The Steering Committee will review public feedback and lead the drafting of the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan will cover the period from adoption (expected in 2028) through 2050. The Steering Committee is expected to hold monthly meetings beginning in the fall of 2026, and members may be asked to attend additional meetings (community meetings, Planning Commission/City Council meetings) as needed. This activity is intended to be completed throughout fall 2026, through 2027, and possibly into early 2028. Members of the Steering Committee will also be expected to review and contribute to drafts of the Comprehensive Plan and assist with public outreach throughout the process.

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Nickolas Olson, Senior City Planner, at 952-241-2524 or [email protected] to obtain an application or inquire about specific duties and responsibilities. Applications are due by Friday, June 5, 2026, at 4:00pm.

What an amazing Trista Day! The beautiful weather brought out a fantastic crowd, and it was great connecting with so many friends, neighbors, businesses, and community groups.

Thank you to the Mound and St. Boni Fire Departments, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota DNR, Three Rivers Park District Department of Public Safety, LifeLink Air Ambulance, and Ridgeview Ambulance for helping make the event such a success.

A special thank you to Mackenthun’s Fine Foods for their donation of approximately 1200 brats/hot dogs and chips! Shoutout as well to Midwest Mini Donuts and What’s the Scoop for the sweet treats.

From the petting zoo and pony rides to the public safety demonstrations and community booths, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make Trista Day such a memorable evening!

St. Bonifacius Mayor Eiler and the City of Minnetrista’s Chief Squires, Deputy Chief Cummings, and Sgt. Griggs recently honored Miles in front of family and friends for his bravery and quick thinking during his mother’s medical emergency.

When his mom needed help, Miles immediately went to neighboring homes to find assistance. Thanks to his actions and a neighbor’s call to 911, emergency responders were able to provide the medical care she needed. She is now on the road to recovery.

As part of the recognition, Miles received several awards, a teddy bear, and a challenge coin. His younger brother was also presented with a teddy bear and a challenge coin for his support during the incident.

Great job, Miles! Your courage and actions made a real difference!

Election Judges play a vital role in ensuring fair, accurate, and secure elections. The City is seeking dedicated community members to help voters at polling locations and support the election process on Election Day.

One of the most important parts of serving as an Election Judge is maintaining political party balance at polling places. Minnesota law requires election judges from different major political parties to work together to help ensure transparency, accountability, and public trust in the election process.

Why become an Election Judge?
