Today was the first day our students could enjoy the new swing set in our back playground! A huge thank you to our PTO for organizing this and to our parents and staff for helping with our Fun Run last year to help raise the funds needed for this project! Of course, we cannot forget our students who did all the running! 🏃

Open House was a great success yesterday! Thank you to everyone who came out to drop supplies and meet the teacher. We are so ready to welcome our students tomorrow! 26-27 will be the best year yet! Happy 65th birthday, MES! 🎂 🎉

We are excited about the new Buddy Bench made for our school by the Junior and Brownie Troop 76152. They had an exciting year working together to create it for Minooka Elementary School as part of their Bronze Award Project. The awesome group includes seven fantastic girl scouts: Sylvia F., Skylar F., Patricia L., Clark M., Hailey S., Aubrey S., and June S. They noticed that the school was in need of a welcoming Buddy Bench where kids could feel comfortable making new friends. Their goal was to build a fun, child-friendly bench decorated with artwork, clearly designed to help students connect, and something that everyone at the school could enjoy.

We will be adding it to the back playground as soon as THE NEW SWINGSET brought to us by our fabulous PTO with proceeds from our last Fun Run is installed! Great things are coming soon at MES!

Thank you to all our new families for coming out to Kindergarten Signing Day yesterday! We hope visiting the building and meeting Principal Ruggeri, Assistant Principal Aulet, and some new friends helped your little one feel excited and ready for the upcoming year! We hope they enjoyed the popsicles, too!

We have been working hard this summer to get ready to welcome our students back in August! Hoping everyone has a great summer! ☀️

Today was bittersweet as we wrapped up the 2025-26 school year with a clap-out for our 4th graders! Leading the parade were our retirees, Mrs. Mary Beth Lind (4th grade teacher) and Mrs. Dawn Richardson (reading intervention associate.) We will miss you all so much!!
