This morning before the storms, members of MABAS Division 15 Water Rescue Team trained on the DuPage River in a Swift Water Rescue drill to sharpening critical skills needed for fast-moving water emergencies. Crews practiced victim rescue techniques, boat operations, and teamwork to ensure a coordinated response when seconds count.

These hands-on trainings help keep our firefighters prepared and our community safe—no matter the conditions. 🛟🚣‍♂️

This week, we proudly recognize the voices behind the scenes—the calm, steady professionals who answer the call when help is needed most. Our telecommunicators at WESCOM 911 are the 1st first responders, providing lifesaving instructions, coordinating emergency crews, and offering reassurance during critical moments.

Their dedication, quick thinking, and compassion make a difference every single day. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do to keep our community and our responders safe.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our own. Today, we mourn the passing of a dedicated WESCOM dispatcher who served our community with compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment.

Behind every call for help was a calm voice, a steady presence, and someone who truly cared. Their impact reached far beyond the headset—touching the lives of first responders and the community we serve each day.

Please keep their family, friends, and the entire WESCOM dispatch family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. We will forever be grateful for their service and will honor their memory always. 💔

Today, WESCOM sadly mourns the loss of one of our own.

TC Melissa "Missi" Prosser unfortunately passed away after being involved in an auto accident earlier this morning.

Missi was a wonderful person who displayed a passion for helping others, and quickly became a valued member of the WESCOM family.

Words cannot adequately describe our feelings right now., and our condolences are with her family and friends. To say she will be missed would be an understatement.

Rest easy Missi, we have the watch from here.
