The phone below was located inside a vehicle about a month ago and recently dropped off at Minooka Police Department. The white iphone with a purple case will be available for owner pick up. Contact our non-emergency number (815)467-2161 if you wish to pick up the phone after office hours.

A portion of McEvilly Road, which becomes Minooka Road, will be closed to allow for the installation of a pedestrian bridge on Tuesday, August 18th from approximately 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Please plan to use alternate routes during this time. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the construction activities.

We had an awesome time seeing everybody at our National Night Out event on Tuesday. We had beautiful weather, great music, delicious food and lots of fun! We hope you were able to come out and enjoy the evening with us!

Update: 8/6/26, Minooka, IL – The Minooka Police Department announces the results from the Memorial Day additional enforcement campaign:
• 57 Speeding citations
• 5 Distracted Driving citations
• 4 Driving While License Suspended, Revoked, or No valid citations
• 3 No Insurance citations
• 5 other traffic citations
The safety effort was funded with federal highway safety funds and administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. For more information on safe driving practices, visit ItsNotaGameIllinois.com.

7/6/26, Minooka, IL – The Minooka Police department plans for Speed Enforcement campaign, from July 7th – August 1st. Speeding reduced a driver’s ability to steer safely around other vehicles or objects in the roadway, increased stopping distances, and can lead to more severe injuries if you are involved in a crash.
This speed enforcement effort is part of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police “Speeding Catches Up with You” and supports IDOT’s broader “It’s not a Game” campaign. This campaign is funded with federal highway safety dollars administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and supported by the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement agencies across the state

A HUGE shoutout to our Cadets! They participated in the Illinois Law Enforcement Youth Association Summer Conference at Western Illinois University this week and came home with some hardware! Congratulations to everybody that participated!

The Minooka Police Department is incredibly proud of the accomplishment of Officer Renee Parrish this past weekend! She, along with other officers from all across the state, participated in the Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S) 22nd Annual Cycle Across Illinois. Their journey began in Edwardsville and travelled for 4 days to Chicago. These amazing officer’s cycled across the State as a memorial and fundraising event to help the grieving families of our fallen heroes.

Way to go Officer Parrish!! 👮🚵‍♂️🧡💙
