Freedom Fest is open to all Minot AFB students and families (CAC access required) and will be an absolutely perfect way to celebrate our 250th Anniversary!
As the designated lead or point-of-contact for the Kid’s Zone, I encourage all families to stop by from 5:00pm-8:30pm to visit with me and enjoy the following activities: coloring and taking home your very own patriotic visor, drawing on a Scratch Art project kit (replete with a ribbon for a flag, star, and rocket), getting a patriotic airbrush tattoo, and jumping in bounce houses! There’s also the opportunity to win candy from playing disk drop games, tossing bean bags into Uncle Sam’s “balloons,” and playing bottle ring toss! And there’s so, so much candy up for grabs!
Also, don’t forget to snap a pic (take a selfie?) with a life-size Declaration of Independence and jumbo inflatable Uncle Sam! Where else will you find such interesting photo props?! Additionally, grab some freebies: glow bracelets, metallic patriotic stars and bead necklaces, History of America School Liaison activity books (yes, I am making the event educational!), School Liaison pens, and a School Liaison patriotic cotton tote!
Our Minot AFB Library will also be located in the Kid’s Zone and will have straw rockets, coke and mentos explosions at the top of each hour, and a solar telescope (weather permitting)!
Then, stick around--enjoy the 7 food trucks, live music (The Hype & Rival 5), go carts, mechanical bull riding, photo trailer, and USO gaming truck--before fireworks at 11pm. It is going to be dazzling!
I want to take a moment to publicly thank our 20 military volunteers who are willingly providing their time and attention to ensure the safe play of our children: Thank You!
Hope to see you all there!
