Job Opportunity
The Oscoda County Road Commission is seeking a full-time Finance Director/Clerk
The Finance Director/Clerk works under the general direction of the Manager and manages the Commission's financial, accounting, and personnel systems. College graduation with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, secretarial science, or related field desired; five years of responsible office administration experience, preferably with emphasis on governmental accounting. Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.

We're Hiring!

The Oscoda County Road Commission will be hiring seasonal workers for the summer (June 1 – August 31) for assorted positions. $18.00/hr.

Applications will be taken until May 21, 2026. Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a physical, drug, and alcohol test (paid for by OCRC) before starting the job.

ROADS UPDATE

Most of our roads are open and passable except:

*Ruth Rd south of Kneeland Rd
*Ge**er Rd south of Miller/608
*Park Rd near Pierce

We are working on these and hope to open them soon. Ruth Rd will take the longest, as we are waiting on the new culvert. Stay safe, everyone!

West Cherry Creek Rd – IS NOW PASSABLE east of Townline near the Whirlpool Canoe Launch.
Caldwell Rd – IS OPEN, BUT YOU CAN'T TURN EAST ON KITTLE
KITTLE RD IS CLOSED AT CALDWELL RD
Kneeland Rd – IS FIXED approximately ½ mile west of Townline (culvert failure).
Dew Rd – Impassable near the curve at Pearsall Rd due to a washout spanning approximately 2 feet across the roadway. - WE ARE WORKING ON THIS ONE NOW
McKinley Rd near Abbe Rd - WATER HAS RECEDED. IT IS GOOD.
Booth Rd near Cherry Creek Rd - STILL WASHED OUT
Townline Rd south of Kittle Rd - IS UNDER WATER
Stark Rd near Pierce Rd - HAS WATER ON IT, BUT IT IS PASSABLE.
Ruth Rd south of Kneeland Rd - STILL OUT

Good morning, Oscoda County Floodland! We are dealing with road closures all over our county today. Here is the list so far:
