Miramar currently invests more than $4.44 million in senior related services, including Senior Services and Adult Daycare.

These are programs our seniors count on for care, transportation, wellness, recreation, referrals, and support.

But if the November property tax ballot question passes, it will be illegal for the City to use property tax dollars to fund senior services.

That means services our seniors depend on could be placed at risk.

So the question is simple:

Is that what you want for your city?
Is that what you want for our seniors?

Our seniors helped build Miramar. We should protect the services that help support them.

These are your property tax dollars at work.

Could Miramar respond to a major hurricane without raising taxes?

Yes. Absolutely.

Public safety comes first. Our budget includes emergency reserves to help clear streets, remove debris, activate distribution sites, power critical infrastructure, and keep residents informed when it matters most.

These are your property tax dollars at work.

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth a day that reminds us that freedom delayed is still worth fighting for, and that progress is never guaranteed without vigilance, courage, and collective action.

Juneteenth is more than a commemoration of the end of slavery in America. It is a testament to the resilience of a people who endured injustice, overcame barriers, and continued to believe in the promise of a more perfect union.

As we reflect on this historic day, we must also acknowledge the challenges of our present moment. Across our nation, there are renewed efforts to erase history, diminish hard-fought gains, and question the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion. These challenges are not merely political debates they are reminders that the struggle for justice and equal opportunity continues.

The answer to these challenges is not division, hatred, or despair. It is unity. It is education. It is civic engagement. It is peaceful resistance. It is ensuring that future generations understand the sacrifices made by those who came before us and the responsibility we have to protect their legacy.

Let us honor Juneteenth not only with celebration, but with purpose. Let us support one another, strengthen our communities, defend truth, and continue the work of building a nation where freedom, opportunity, and justice belong to all.

Our ancestors endured far greater obstacles and still found a way to persevere. We owe it to them and to those who will come after us to keep moving forward together.

Happy Juneteenth. β€οΈπŸ–€πŸ’š

Miramar, I get it. The cost of living is real.
Groceries are up. Insurance is through the roof. And for homeowners β€” your property tax bill has gone up too. And even though Miramar’s portion is only one third of your tax bill, I feel that pressure just like you do. And I understand why a tax cut sounds like relief.
But before you vote this November, you deserve the full picture. Not politics. Not spin. Just the facts β€” about what this amendment will mean for the city you call home. Stay tuned for my upcoming town halls to inform our residents what services that are in jeopardy due to the impacts of this constitutional amendment if voters approve in November. Know before you Vote.

Neighbors, today we broke ground on a historic project years in the making β€” Miramar Cove.

Miramar, a decade ago, I shared a vision with the Ansin family to transform Red Road and Miramar Parkway into a true destination for our city. What began as an idea has now become a $1.5 billion investment that will create a vibrant downtown experience right here in Miramar.

Miramar Cove will bring housing, restaurants, entertainment, recreation, public spaces, a signature central cove, and unique attractions that will redefine Town Center and enhance quality of life for our residents.

This project represents persistence, partnership, and belief in what Miramar can become.

The future of Miramar is bright β€” and this is only the beginning.
