The 2026 FSG Athletics Invitational: Battle of the Counties brought together youth track and field clubs from across South Florida, showcasing some of the region’s most promising young talent. Teams representing multiple counties competed not only for medals, but for county pride in a meet that truly lived up to its name.

Depth proved to be the defining factor throughout the competition, as the strongest teams relied on well-rounded performances rather than just individual standouts. Relay events delivered some of the most exciting moments of the day, highlighting teamwork, precision, and speed under pressure.

Youth sprint races were equally thrilling, featuring close finishes and impressive performances that underscored the future of track and field in the region. As the meet continues to grow, the Battle of the Counties is quickly establishing itself as a premier showcase for South Florida’s next generation of athletes.

Special congratulations to Haile Hoo and Sharron Grayon, along with the dedicated FSG parents, for hosting another outstanding meet at Ansin Sports Complex.

The 2026 Miramar Invitational delivered elite early-season performances, highlighted by Kishane Thompson’s blazing 14.92 world-best in the 150m, breaking a 32-year-old record and setting the tone for a sprint-heavy showcase. Ackeem Blake clocked a wind-aided 9.84 in the men’s 100m, while rising U.S. high school star Tate Taylor stunned with a 9.95 for second.

On the women’s side, Jamaica dominated the sprints with Lavanya Williams (10.99) and Tia Clayton leading the charge, while Sada Williams impressed in the 300m.

Jamal Britt ran a world-leading 13.07 in the 110m hurdles, and middle-distance standouts Will Sumner and Paris Peoples put down strong marks in the 600m.

With world leads, meet records, and standout youth performances, Miramar proved the 2026 track season is already heating up fast.
