Local 360 is doing their part to help a local area Firefighter and his family. We would love for members of our community to help this cause.

Penn firefighter Kevin Maes, ER/Forensic Nurse Abbie Maes, and their little buddy Roman need our help!

Roman is just 5 years old and should be getting ready to start kindergarten. Instead, he’s fighting neuroblastoma and currently undergoing chemotherapy.

The fire service is a family, and when one of our own is going through something like this, we show up. Please keep Roman, Kevin, Abbie, and the entire Maes family in your thoughts as they face the long road ahead.

Congratulations to Firefighter Cody Price and Firefighter Travis Skaggs on successfully completing their probationary year! 👏🚒

Completing 20 years in the fire service is certainly a major milestone, but making it through that first year and officially leaving the “probie” status behind is a close second!

BAIL OUT! BAIL OUT!
A-Shift getting some reps in throwing ladders and bailing out of 2nd story windows. Ladder bail out is a technique we all hope we never have to use but happy we trained on it when we need to use those skills.
A ladder bail out is used when we need to get out of the 2nd story FAST! It involves exiting the window head first, flipping 180° on the ladder, and sliding down to the ground.

Tuesday morning, the Mishawaka Fire Department welcomed nine new recruits to the department!

These recruits will embark on an exciting and challenging journey as they learn what it takes to serve as a firefighter and EMS provider. More importantly, they’ll learn the values, expectations, and standards that define what it means to be a Mishawaka Firefighter.

Our Fire Academy covers it all—from daily operations and emergency response to fire suppression, patient care, and life-saving interventions. Throughout their training, these recruits will be pushed to grow physically, mentally, and professionally as they develop the skills necessary to serve the citizens of Mishawaka.

We’re proud to welcome these nine recruits to the department and look forward to watching them learn, grow, and become the next generation of Mishawaka Firefighters.

Congratulations Jacob Callender, Eric Freel, Landon Hartman, Dominick Haskins, Andrew Imber, Summer Kornrumph, Kendall Pfost, Jacob Pierce, and Darren Vance!

🟡 SCHOOL STARTS WEDNESDAY, TIME TO SLOW DOWN! 🟡
Mishawaka Fire partners up with Mishawaka Police, crossing guards, and School City of Mishawaka for the annual Cool Your Engines campaign! Students are heading back to school in Mishawaka on Wednesday, August 12. That means lots of students walking and riding bikes, and heavier traffic in school zones.
‼️STAY ALERT! When you see the flashing yellow school signs, there are students around and the speed limit decreases.
📵Put the phone down and eliminate distractions while driving.

🚨New Sign, Who Dis? As with every year, you'll see fire trucks and police cars with their lights on near schools to draw awareness to school zones. This year, we get to display a new sign for the Cool Your Engines campaign!
