So, today I am one proud dad!!! My son Isaiah Zapata graduated from boot camp and my other son River Zapata (current Drill Instructor) was able to attend his graduation even though my family couldn't due to graduations being closed. The Marine Corps brotherhood lives on and I wanted to make sure that my 5th Marines Recon brothers know that our Recon traditions will live on through my Marine Corps boys! (Travis Getting, Ryan Buytenhuys, Jake Schoultz, Chad Parment, Edmondson, Barker, Turner, Doc, Ssgt Skiles and many more........Never Above you, Never Below you, Always beside you!)

Ok Gents, as some of you know, or may not know, Sergeant Major Skiles retired earlier this year. He is living with his wife in DC and has started his own company working as a consultant/guest speaker for law enforcement, company executives, and has worked with the Mayor staff for Toledo, Ohio the Oakland SWAT team, and to any organization that will listen that needs to create cohesion where it is not.
I have been talking with him and have plans to meet with him to create a plan for the executives within the organization I work for. I'm flying him out on Sunday November 17th and he will be staying at my house until flying out on November 19th. I would like to see how many of you I could get over to my house for a BBQ on Sunday afternoon November 17th. I realize it is late notice but it's the best I could do under the circumstances. He is going to be inviting some of his Marine compadres that still live in the LA/OC area that day as well.
